...so, you *think* that everyone who doesn't *think* that "there's no way GT can beat ND" is out of their mind. I get it. Okay. All I was saying is that it is week 1 and NOTHING is outside the realm of possibilities.... I'm sure that your crystal ball will prevail this week. I wish you the best of luck this season.

Gosh i must of really pissed you off huh...

Being a former D1 athlete, trust me first week is EVERYTHING....It's the pressure, the women, the media, the fans, it's glorious. 1st week seperates the teams that are winners and losers....NO ONE LIKES TO LOSE OPENING GAME.... is it possible GT could win? Of course....Does socrstud think it is likely from what I know? No. And I do not think that GT could easily pull off the upset

nobody in this thread said gt could easily beat notre dame.it's the other way around...by laying a dime on the moneyline you are saying that nd could easily beat gt.

you are probably right that nd will win su..but i wouldn't make that bet...but if you're set on this bet don't let anybody talk you out of it.

good luck.

AR

read a couple lines up about what Tao said..."easily pull off an upset."

Yes your logic is correct.....I don't think this one comes easy at all....and it does seem that that is what I am saying.... What I'm saying is ND wins the game and that's it...if it comes hard than it comes hard, if it comes easy than its easy....a W is a W and I just don't think GT can get one week 1 against ND $1000 strong

...no, you haven't pissed me off. I'm just having a discussion...apparently with a brick wall. :banghead:

...maybe I should have stated it differently. I do not think that GT will "easily" beat ND. All I'm saying is what AR182 alluded to, which is that it is possible and it being week one, I probably wouldn't have made that bet. I wish you the best of luck, as I have no money on the game whatsoever. Do I make homer bets from time to time? Yeah. I am a softy for Memphis and Tennessee...but I do play against them from time to time and I don't make huge ML bets on road favs in week one. I just can't justify it...with the possibility that GT *might* pull out a home win. You said it yourself, "NO ONE LIKES TO LOSE OPENING GAME...." I would assume that would apply to GT also? ...and they are at home. GL this week and this season, but I wouldn't pencil this one in the win column just yet.

but you have to wonder when tenuta is going to get the credit he deserves as one of the very best defensive coaches in the country. for that reason alone, gtech stands a very good chance of being in this game until the end.

....this is the one reason I played Ga Tech +7' earlier in the week. more of an action play, as I will be there.... Tech's defense and the man child Calvin Johnson's potential abuse of Notre Dame's corners are enough for me to bite......

should be a good time as we will be heading down to the taigate at 8am for the 8pm game :scared :toast: :toast:

Stud,

I agree with you 100%, ND will beat GT. Too many people (around the country) picking the outright upset. Ain't gonna happen. Here is a stat for you. Since Gailey has been the coach at GT his straight up record is 2-19 when the opponent scores more than 21 pts.

Good Luck,

Okie

I agree it is possible for GT to win.

The big deal is I think GT is a decent team this year with a decent deffense proven from last year returning a lot of guys. They truly are not a big time team yet however. This is ND guys would if it was OSU or Texas coming out of the gates, or USC last year from that matter? Look what ND did to USC are we forgetting that they should have won that game, not to mention beating Michigan at Michigan early last year. That is the same Michigan that beat Penn St, In which Penn st beat OSU...

This is my logic, maybe silly but this is what it is.

I do think that it is possible this one could be one of those games where ND pulls it out and that is why I am scared to play the points...Not too mention no one likes to lose opening game at home....But I really think ND will have a great year with Brady and RB tandem, and I'm sure Weis is tidying up the D as i type.

at -300 I lay 1000 down and make back over 200... On a for sure hunch as I would call it....I like my chances....

Last thought, imagine if USC returned Lionart and Reggie Bush....Would you bet the ML for USC against Tech? This is exactly what ND has done returning Brady and their RB, and truly they should have beaten USC last year.

So Cal
I don't see N.D winning this game easily.
-300 is not great value

In LY BOWL Game vs OSU, S.Holmes & T.Ginn JR
Destroyed N.D pass defense.

I see much of the same game plan for G.T
Calvin Johnson is a BEAST!!!!
If you don't know how this kid is , read about him ,watch his games ETC.

Personally I hope N.D destroys G.T
I played B.Quinn to win the heisman 6months ago

GL with N.D

If ND doesn't win this game you can throw your Heisman Trophy ticket in the trash...

If they destroyed their pass defense I don't know what you can say about Utah doing to GT...

Good luck, I hope they win and Brady stays on pace to win the heisman...

And no i'm not a homer, I like ND but I am a Panther Fan...Pittsburgh that is

Dangerous bet! Tech won at Miami and Auburn last season. The Jackets' defense only allowed 15 PPG at Bobby Dowd Stadium in 2005. I think Tech has an excellent chance of pulling the shocker on national TV tonight. Good luck with your bet!
