What is going on with this line?????? Does this seem TOO EZ to you guys also??? I'm half tempted to take NYJ here....call me crazy, but someone give me some info on this.....Jets actually have been very competitive lately. NE coming off a BLOWOUT and their only fav's by 5 over the god awful Jets. C'mon....somethings up here!!!

NE is locked into the #4 seed, I think the books are keeping this line under the magic 7 because of that. Don't look for Belichick to rest any players however; I live an hour out of boston so I know this team inside and out. Belichick is a big believer in momentum, and even last year against the niners in week 17 he still played starters for 3 FULL quarters, including brady even though the #1 seed was locked up. Don't look for any starters to rest unless they're up by at least 2 tds in the 4th, so the backdoor should be protected. I jumped on it myself at -5, and it's at -6 right now at Pinnacle so I'd hop on. Good luck this week!!
Another nice little tid bit is that home dogs are 0-2 SU and ATS this season on MNF I believe. Could the home dog finally come alive here in the last MNF game this season???? I am like'n the Jets more and more here in this spot....I totally realize NE is on a roll right now, but like I said Jets are not playing dead and this is a division rivalry. Hell...NE only won 16-3 this season. Talk to me fellas......am I nuts???
Yes, if you are going to take the Jets, I believe you are NUTS! The Pats look as good as any team. They will not lose this game and I dont think it will even be close. Brady will play a full three quarters, I expect NE to win by 10+.
Thanks for the comments fellas.....but, still very curious if the this is such a 10+ pt easy win for NE why has Vegas set this line so low??? NOTHING is that easy in wagering....I know from expericence. Any jackazz off the street can come into a sportsbook, look at this line and automatically think NE is lock!!! Vegas ain't that dumb...I'm sorry. Line will probably be 7-8 or higher by gametime, BUT it opened at 5.5.

Well, the Pats have said they are going to treat this game as a regular season game. I love the pats here, I think the line was set because vegas didnt know what Belicheck would do (rest or play the starters)
I'm with KOD, this game all depends on if NE sits its players or not. I been hearing a little bit of info for both sides on this one. This is a comment I have found from Belichick:

So all we can do is wait and see, but if Brady plays this line will be covered by halftime.

Yeah...lots of NE money coming in. Up to +7 now....probably will be 8 or 9 by gametime. I will be on the Jets for a good size play. They just have too many positive factors in their favor IMO not to take them here at home. I know NE is the better team and they need to win more, but this line and the line movement is just way too much for me to believe that Vegas is giving "free" money to everyone this easy by setting this line at 4.5 to open. I also LOVE the fact that no home dogs on MNF has won or covered this year.....I am a firm believer in following trends like that as part of my capping and the Jets fit nicely here for a home dog to get the $$$ in the last MNF game. Not saying they win SU, but a NE 3-4 pt "escape" win is what I'm feeling here......more comments calling me crazy would be welcome..lol!! GL fellas!!

How was GB similiar in their game to the Jets game?? Just curious....what trends did you notice? I know they're both home dogs, but maybe you noticed something else? I think that line was set just about right...opened at 6.5-7. I think NE should of opened up atleast -7.....VERY fishy why it opened -4.5 and I don't want to hear because Vegas didn't know if the Pats were going to start players or not. That's bologna......they know! Why not be safe and open it up at -7 and have it bet down if they were resting players?
I wouldn't read a whole lot into the opening line, especially since it is now at -7, which is right where you'd expect it to be. I find Vegas lines to be most erratic when it is a case where neither team has anything to play for. NE is a #4, and Jets can't play spoiler. There's just way too many unknowns here to really feel good about any angle (how long will Pats play starters? how much will the Jets let pride be a motivator? will the Jets play some younger guys to see what they've got? Herm Edwards is good friends with Dungy; will the tragedy have any effect?). It's situations like these where I think the best course of action is to take no action. JMO

This is one of those games I believe you cant overthink. Vegas wants you to think this is too many points. They couldnt get enough jet bets at 5 so they up'd to 7. Now everyone hammers the jets and the pats win by two scores. Buy the game to six and I believe your in the clear. Pats are a second half team so i might have to re-think that first half bet. Sure does look appealing though.
Call me lucky. I got NE early in the week at - 4.5
