Testing Testing,

On June the 3rd and 4th Hendrick and Ganassi held a test session here at New Hampshire. Those at the test were Jimmie Johnson,Jeff Gordon, Dale Jr,Kasey Khane,Kyle Larson and Jamie Mcmurray.

Testing Goodyear tires today at Richmond are Denny Hamlin, Greg Biffle Kurt Busch and Kyle Larson. Don`t know if there using the same tire compound but the tracks are very similar in size and layout. This will wrap up a two day test at Richmond.

Heres what Khane had to say about the test:

?Anytime you can go and test for a couple of days at a track -- and we went from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at New Hampshire for two days in early June -- that is a ton of laps and a lot of things that each team is trying. Jimmie (Johnson) was really good at times. Dale (Earnhardt Jr.) got good at the end. I felt like we got pretty good at the end, and Jeff (Gordon) was probably the best car the first day so we all learned a lot. From that information, I think we can put together a really good package for Hendrick Motorsports this weekend when we return, and also use the information when we race there again at the start of the Chase. New Hampshire is a really good track to be good at. Last year in September, we were an average 10th, and that was about where I ran if I didn?t hit the wall so hopefully we made some improvements at the test session recently. I felt good about it and so did the other guys.?

Tire Notes:

NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series teams will run the same tire codes at New Hampshire this weekend . . . this is the same combination of left- and right-side tires these teams have run at New Hampshire since 2012 . . . this is the only track at which either of these two tire codes will be run in 2014 . .

Chassis selections :

#2-Brad Keselowsk
i: will drive Primary Chassis PRS-906 at New Hampshire, which last raced at Richmond and finished 4th.
#3-Austin Dillon: will pilot Chassis No. 477 in the Camping Wold RV Sales 301 at New Hampshire. This is a new Dow Chevrolet SS that will be utilized under race conditions for the first time this weekend. The #3 team used this Chevrolet at New Hampshire Motor Speedway during a two-day test session there last week.
#4-Kevin Harvick will pilot Chassis No. 868 in Sunday's race at New Hampshire. Harvick raced this car to an 11th-place finish at Richmond in April.
#5-Kasey Kahne: Crew chief Kenny Francis has selected Hendrick Motorsports Chassis No. 5-815 for Sunday's race at New Hampshire. Kahne has driven this chassis five times -- thrice in 2013 and twice so far in 2014. Notably, Kahne has raced this car in his last two outings at Phoenix's one-mile oval, where he recorded an average finish of 6.5. Most recently, he drove this car at Richmond in April, where he started fourth and finished 14th.

#15-Clint Bowyer: Chassis No. 798 serves as the primary chassis for Bowyer at New Hampshire. The chassis also served as Bowyer's primary at Phoenix (13th), California (16th) and Richmond (43rd) earlier this year. The team also tested the chassis last week at Loudon.
#16-Greg Biffle: and the Matt Puccia led #16 NESN 30th Anniversary Ford Fusion team will run chassis RK-856 at New Hampshire, which made its debut a year ago at New Hampshire, resulting in a 15th-place finish and last ran Martinsville and finished 18th.
#17-Ricky Stenhouse Jr.: and the #17 Cargill Beef/Wegman's Ford Fusion team will be using primary chassis Chassis RK-877, which is the same chassis that the #17 team raced at Richmond when Stenhouse Jr. was running lap times faster than the leader before suffering a blown right front tire on his #17 Ford, forcing the 2013 Rookie of the Year to settle for a 38th-place finish.

Chassis No. 790 debuted at Richmond in 2013, a former #39 chassis for Stewart-Haas Racing, and finished 15th with driver Ryan Newman. Since its debut, No. 790 started 24th and led four laps en route to a third-place finish at Richmond in September.

Sounds good to me!!!

Anybody sticking out to you so far?

I really like the setup so far. That chassis the 48 has started 10th at Richmond and had worked it way to 5th half way thru the race until he had problems. I really don`t think he had a shot for the win, maybe top 3. odds have him 5.5-1 and I just can`t see that without some practice time and even then he had better be stout.

The one that keeps me going back and forth to is Keselowski. He has by far the most proven chassis. That chassis finished forth at Richmond but it led 114 laps of 400. If he was 9-1 then yea but 7.5 -1 I`m going to pass.. I`m mean really, if he dominates practice and set on the pole ,don`t see where your going to lose that much.Maybe 6-1.

Another thing is these proven chassis have been giving it up to a new chassis. It used to be a chassis that has won with was worth following but there making these new chassis better fresh off the trailer. But I will still always follow these chassis.

Thanks for asking.

What are you thinking at this point?

And another thing , that Goodyear tire test they just had at Richmond will have no bearing on this race at New Hampsire. They tested for 50 laps with 7 different tire codes. I don`t see where its going to be an advantage here.

I heard the words "hot" and "slick" thrown around to describe the track this weekend. So therefore, Stewart at +1800 is sticking out to me.

He led 84 laps last year and if memory serves me right, he ran out of gas on the last couple of laps which gave Vickers the win.

I'm just not too fond of taking him before practice/qualifying.

adding another chassis:

#14-Tony Stewart: Chassis No. 14-792 made its debut last April at Richmond. It started 21st but Stewart wheeled it into the top-five prior to a greenwhite-checkered finish. There, Stewart was bumped out of the way in the two-lap scramble and instead of finishing fifth, he wound up a disappointing 18th. Chassis No. 14-792 was poised for another strong finish in its second career start when it rallied from its 16th-place starting spot to lead 84 laps in July at New Hampshire. But while in second place on the final lap, Chassis No. 14-792 ran out of fuel. Stewart was forced to coast all the way around the 1.058-mile oval, which left him a disappointing 26th. With interim driver Mark Martin at the wheel, Chassis No. 14-792 returned to New Hampshire in September, qualifying 18th and finishing 23rd. Martin drove this car again at Phoenix in November for the penultimate race of the 2013 season, qualifying 16th and finishing 15th. Chassis No. 14-792 returned to Richmond in April with Stewart back at the helm for its fifth career start and first of 2014. It qualified 20th and finished 25th. After sitting idle, the car returns to New Hampshire for a third time with this weekend's Camping World RV Sales 301.

You might be on to something Shiner.
