Thanks. Every player has health risk some more than others. His game needs to go towards being a red zone threat more to join the elite. I'm banking this year it does! I like O line and the new coach bringing new life. Hopefully they'll be playing for something late in the season cuz some star players seem to take off if their team is out of it. Only other concern is don't know how really good the Falcons will be this year

yeh so true

RODDY WHITE TO HAVE ELBOW SURGERY

The Falcons wideout will have the procedure Monday but is expected to return for Week 1 of the regular season. Preseason standout Leonard Hankerson is expected to be the No. 2 option behind Julio Jones for the next preseason game.

So Mike Vick I mean Roddy Roddy needs surgery for his elbow. :mj07:

why would he wait to spring that one.

hmmmm hot practise. pre-season games where he takes hits for no reason.

oh but he will be back for that first game...... with bells on.

Fantasy is about TDs more than yards in most leagues

I havnt been able to get interested in Fantasy football. I have no understanding of it.

I probably should at some point.

it seems like too much to keep track of and takes me away from other things going on in my life.

yeh me too.

hope Beasley will not be a wasted pick. Trouble for him is there is not one else on a high caliber level on that defense that jumps out at me.

I hope to see lots of shootouts!

Yea...I've only been doing fantasy about 5 years. Never had interest before too. But it's really fun!! Especially with co workers. Just stick to 1-2 teams at the most and it's doable if you have a busy life. I do as well. Some guys have 5-6 teams...way too much.

"Get yourself a fall guy," Borland says one of the former players advised. The former player, whom Borland declined to name, told the rookies that if they ran into legal trouble, their designated
fall guy would be there to take the blame and, if necessary, go to jail. "'We'll bail him out,'" Borland says the former player assured them.

Borland was appalled. "I was just sitting there thinking, 'Should I walk out? What am I supposed to do?' " he recalls. He says he didn't leave the room because he didn't want to cause a scene, but the incident stayed with him.

FLOWERY BRANCH ? There?s a chance the Falcons will sign quarterback Rex Grossman and I?m sensing the immediate reaction among the fanbase is: :scared But there?s nothing wrong with the team?s move, other than it shines a light 0n one of the shortcomings of the team?s offseason.

Falcons coach Dan Quinn said Tuesday, ?I wouldn?t (read) too much into? the fact the Falcons have brought the veteran into camp for a physical and a tryout (though they haven?t signed him, yet). Quinn maintains the move is reflective of something he and general manager Thomas Dimitroff would do at any position to potentially create competition, not just quarterback.

This is what we call: spin. If Quinn and Dimitroff were really happy with how backups T.J. Yates and Sean Renfree have looked in mini-camps, training camp and two exhibition games, they wouldn?t even be looking at Grossman. Nobody thought about bringing him in before training camp. That should tell you something.

In short:

? The good news is that Grossman may improve the Falcons? backup quarterback situation.

? The bad news is that Grossman may improve the Falcons? backup quarterback situation.

He is 35 years old and hasn?t taken a snap since 2011, when he started 11 games for Washington. He was on the Redskins? roster in 2012 and 2013 and was out of football in 2014 after being cut in the preseason by Cleveland. (The Browns sought to re-sign him for one week in December for the veteran minimum after losing Johnny Manziel and Brian Hoyer to injuries, but Grossman passed, preferring to spend the holidays with his family in Palm Beach rather than collect a game check in excess of $50,000. Must be nice.):0008

I don?t have a problem with the Falcons? bringing in Grossman, or even signing him if it comes to that. He has played 54 NFL games, started 47 and, yes, was Chicago?s starting quarterback in 2006 when the Bears went to the Super Bowl.

If he a starting-caliber quarterback now? Of course not. But the Falcons could make worst decisions for a backup behind Matt Ryan, and they apparently have.

Statistics in exhibition games can be misleading, but Yates isn?t making a strong case for himself, completing only 17 of 30 attempts for 183 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions (rating: 46.9). Renfree has been a little better: 16 for 21, 162 yards, zero TDs but also zero interceptions (rating: 97.7). Each has been sacked twice.

If Ryan goes down, the Falcons are dead, anyway. But it would be nice to think they have a reasonable option behind him.

1. Rushing attack meek. Falcons coach Dan Quinn was not happy about another poor blocking outing by the offensive line.

?It?s a really important part of what we want to do,? Quinn said. ?It?s a real emphasis for us. ?We really feel like for us to be able to run the ball closes the circle of toughness on our team. For us to win it at the end of games, there will be times when we have to run it and finish.?

Quinn wouldn?t call the issue a ?concern.?

?The emphasis is still there,? Quinn said.

2. The interior battles. Quinn said the interior of the offensive line is under heavy scrutiny.

?There is a lot to look at there,? Quinn said.

3. Tight end group. Quinn didn?t have a post-game update on tight end Tony Moeaki, who left the game with an ankle injury.

But, unsolicited, he put the tight end group on notice.

?Tight end wise, we are still evaluating all of them,? Quinn said. ?That position is something that we are looking at hard.?

4. Ryan on Coleman. Rookie running back Tevin Coleman made his NFL debut.

While he rushed for 2 yards on four carries, quarterback Matt Ryan was impressed.:mj07:

?I thought Tevin did a nice job,? Ryan said. ?In some of the situations he had some tough looks to go against. But I thought the one run where it looked like he was kind of down and he kept the motor running and kind of extended that run? after contact. That kind of showcased what he?s capable of doing.?

5. Yates? effort. Backup quarterback T.J. Yates, who saw the team sign veteran quarterback Rex Grossman on Wednesday, completed 18 of 28 passes for 187 yards. He was sacked three times and finished with a passer rating of 83.5.
...................................................................................................

I know its pre-season but that was a pathetic effort by the Falcons

Yates had a higher QB rating than Ryan

And Ryan thinks Colemans 2 yds was something impressive.:scared

wtf.

I knew when the Falcons were tested with a solid defensive line on the other team that they would fold like mofo . Terrible blocking by the offensive line. Defense line was constantly pushing them into Ryan.

Ryan is a little bunny back there. Not stepping into his throws because he is afraid to get nailed everytime. Joe Namath never half stepped even if he was going to get stomped. He made the play. It was important to him.

The Falcons defense also sucks hind titty. Still too many pieces missing.

need two more drafts with Quinn and get rid of Dimitroff.

Oh but the Falcons have a good field goal kicker. wowser. :mj07:

Yea O line was terrible last night. Big concern. Even though Coleman stats weren't impressive, I like his style. You can see the kid has talent. Hammy still bothering him. He should have edge over the other backs. That whole backfield is just not impressive at all.

This team is going to be involved with a lot of shootouts I feel. Easy schedule and no run game....pass pass pass. That's if Ryan can stay on his feet
