adding 2nd rd @ $plays
Flesch -105 over Andrade

Somehow missed this 1st time thru.Andrade not playing that much better hitting only 50% of fairways on this wide open course.Believe he must have had rabbits foot in pocket.

Two that I can confirm Bmad

At the Cut: 2nd rd matches 1-2 72 holes 1-4
2nd rd Dimarco and Howell lose to Parny by 1 and 2 shots respectively.Flesch beats Andrade by 2.

72 holes
K Sutherland/Faxon loss by 10
Gossett/Elk loss by 1
Chamblee/Sabatini loss by 8
Langer/Clarke loss by 5
Parny/Maruyama win by 10
pending
Garcia/Duval 4 down
Mediate/Calc 2 up
Howell/Lehman all square
Hoch/Couples all square
Dimarco/Duval 2 down

Outrights: Sitting in good position at the present considering all are 20/1 place shots.Parny-2nd/Funk-11th/Mediate-16th

Wasn't a pretty site logging on and checking finals this morning. When tv coverage went off Parny,Dimarco and Howell were all tied,it looked like Gossett and Hoch would cash at cut and all of them went wrong direction with bout 6 holes remaining.
Off to see if there is anything I dare venture out on today.

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
18 Hole Matchup for Saturday @ 1*:

Perry(+105) vs. Singh
Perry looks to answer the end of his streak of sub-par rounds. Perry's solid stats have yielded only four birdies in the first two rounds. I like the pairing of Perry/Triplett/Haas. Singh's spotty play and uncharacteristic scrambling this week are reflected in 58.3% GIR (T50) and 27.5 putts per round. Singh has yet to display this year the nearly unbeatable stretches of play that have defined his elite career. Singh and most everyone else cannot hold a candle to Perry's Saturday numbers this year. I think I'll take the considerable underdog here.

3rd rd 72 hole cont @ Oly currently tied
Mediate -105 over Zinger
My thoughts are these small firm greens should not be compatible with Zingers low ball flight, but my opinions have not been worth much this week.

Mid-point update:

Calcavecchia/Westwood Trails by 3
Clarke/Westwood LOST by 8
Kelly/Westwood Trails by 1
Sutherland/McGinley LOST by 3
Triplett/McGinley Trails by 1
Haas/McGinley Trails by 1
Haas/Senden Trails by 2
Gay/Lonard Leads by 4

DiMarco 16th
Estes 16th
Perry 68th

Geez! Down in 7 of 8 matchups. The only saving grace is that only two are decided at the cut. DiMarco and Estes are in contention, just five shots off the pace.

Stan There are times ole Murph can be extremely tough and appears this week he has went to extremes.Of our six collective losses at the cut.Not ONE of them had missed a cut stateside previously this year and they ALL spit the bit at the same time.

4th rd
Rollins +100 over Tanaka @ Camelot
Tanaka has been known to throw in some final rd clinkers. This Rollins kid seems very steady and has improved in GIR's each day as he becomes familiar with course.

Also adding an outright for 1/2 unit @ Oly place only
Dimarco 5/1

Don't understand how Oly has him @ 5/1 sitting at -9 and Duval the same at -7, then again I don't understand how Parny beats Howell and Dimarco by a total of 3 shots when you bet against him and loses by 16 the next when there are no lines. With that being said got a few remaining 72's that have modest scalps available which I will pass on so you can look for Mediate to dump today and Duval to be on fire.:violin:
Think they put this icon in especially for me? :)

Can't get into Bet365 yet but understand they have ties win there today.

Still can't get into 365??
Considering the projected wind and rain (softer greens) I have decided to hedge one position I could get double dipped in.Will hedge the cont play on Mediate over Zinger at Oly with Zinger +120 over Mediate @ Oly currently 1 down.

It's not over until the fat lady gives the tonsils a workout... so.. with Estes proving very disappointing and Olazabal looking too far back after a mediocre finish yesterday... it's time for further action.
McCarron has been very well tipped in the forum this year but I overlooked him after two poor years here. Rio's comments now look spot on (hope he was 'added'). However, he sometimes looks a a bit nervy when trying to close and his last win had a 73 final round.

Taniguchi at 9/2 V Chandler and S James was very tempting as he has just one bogey on the card in 54 holes. I have him down for 16 top 3's during 2000 & 2001 including 2 wins. He looks solid each way... but I needed the comfort of 4th place for a lumpy bet.

So for me it's the cheaper option and rowing in with the bigger price of Sabbatini 10/1 Ladbrokes for a small interest... He delivered the goods in a match-up when 5th last week and was previously 15th AT & T and 8th Phoenix.

Bettingmad,

McCarron is certainly the man to beat today but I agree that Taniguchi is nice value at $5.50. Even better was $8.00 which one of the local Aussie books had available (Sportstab).

Pity I saw it after they had closed for the evening.

Cartman88,
7/1 Taniguchi did look big.... but he was probably a skinner (unsupported so far).

The best thing about in-running betting, particularly on the final day, is these differences in price. I believe that bookies rather than always offer the price that relates to a player's chance of winning, sometimes offer a more tempting price on a player with low liabilities, to balance their books.

Demoralizing :nooo: Unbelievably poor state of affairs capping the 2002 PGA Tour season. Suffered early on last year, but not into February. Westwood's high finish was a big surprise; McGinley's 74th position was not, though it was galling that a three-unit play against him lost via the 'ties lose' rule. DiMarco was never really in contention, but typically fell one shot short of a payout.

I am dumbfounded. I grade plays an only post what I deem the very best of the lot.Yet week after week they tread water while 2nd tiered wagers win.Can not remember a better start to a season nor a better week than this one( greatly enhanced by coat taillng the Euro crews out rights). Now to be quite frank I take more pain in posted losses than I do joy on winning overall probably due to modest amount of wagers but this week was the coup de grace and I am at my wits end trying to sort why the secondary wagers below which include returns of $60-$125-$223-$274 and $400 on $10 wagers, win and the primary's don't.

Unfortuately BM, or maybe not, I did not get a chance to consider adding Scotty. I've been battling a raging temperature (or rather my good lady has) since Wed/ Thurs and I only came round at about 9pm on Sunday. Of course first thing I asked the good lady to update me on was the golf. At that stage I think she said he was two clear. I then crashed out again, and when I woke the tournament was over and Scotty had blown it.

As I've completely missed this event I would be grateful for anyone to brief me on the new course and also whether Scotty bottled it or are we giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Cheers,

Rio.

Rio,
I didn't see the finish... but from the reports I have read... if some time in the future McCarron is in a playoff with the blind, one-legged, one armed golfer at our local club... it could be 5/6 each of two :D Perhaps someone else may have seen it.
Hope you are feeling better.... with 3 events this week you need to be at the top of your form.
