Deal....I just bought a 2yr. old colt name "Pillpusher". I've run him in a couple of barrier races to get him some workouts. Got about 58% fitness so far so I'm guessin' he needs some more workouts. Didn't realized you can only have two barrier races per day.

This is probably the coolest site I've ever been on.

What's your two horses names and how many barriers have you had before you entered your horses in statke races? What have been your results so far?? Trying my next barrier race with blinkers on and a heavy dose of vitamin supplements....

I havent registered yet, but that site is amazing!! I may have found a replacement for actual sports gambling. This looks like more fun than any kind of sports action!

A very interesting site!

Not sure if I will register yet, though. I have a very full life as it is. I have to decide if I have room to add one more thing!

So there you are Big Tease! Have missed you in the Nascar races and had thought that perhaps you had given it up. Seems like you have been doing very well there.

Best of luck to everyone

Tease....

You really need to jump in. I stayed up till 2 am mustering up ways to increase my horse's fitness. Chit is ADDICTING! Hell, you can even place wagers on horses that you do not own. Make sure ya check out the message forums as there is tons of good information in managing your horse(s).

You can actually make quite a few bucks in the Stakes and Championship races if ya manage your horse correctly. They pay six days a week, ANYTIME you request funds from your account.

Let us know when ya join up and get a few barrier races under your belt. I PROMISE you'll LOVE it!

Well, I nominated Pillpusher for his first race tomorrow with roughly $51.20 at stake. I'm sure the pool will get larger the closer it gets to race time(which by the way is 14:00 GMT) It's a Nursery Plate Colt race going a distance of 1 1/8th on Australian turf. Do any of you fellas know when I will find out if my horse has been selected or not? In my "Upcoming Races" section it still says there are zero...

Here's just a quick sampling of what this is all about if we've sparked some interest. This is a copy/paste of the welcome letter...

Hello from Digiturf.
Congratulations on becoming a Digiturf racehorse owner! You are about to enjoy months of thrilling entertainment, and may be on your way to earning a significant amount of money as well! Just a few brief words of advice: Make sure that you train your horse in Barrier Races, so that you get a good idea of your horse?s strengths and weaknesses. Barrier Races are a quick way to find out if you have a potential Champion on your hands! Use the Tack Shop to buy those products that will enhance the performance of your horse. Some products affect your horse?s actual racing ability, while others (like vitamins) affect overall fitness and conditioning. Be sure to pay the supplementary fee, which enters your horse as a Championship Candidate. Only Championship Candidates are allowed to run for the really big money, and that?s what you want a piece of, right? Don?t over-race your horse, or over-train it for that matter. Plan which races you want to enter, and prepare your horse for those races. Owning a horse is a skill as well as loads of fun, and the more thought you put into it, the more money you?ll make! Well, I?ll get off my high virtual horse now, and let you experience the excitement for yourself! Have fun

The more I think aobut it, the more I believe that IE would have some mighty fine ponies in his stable...

Neems, I will definatly be getting into that action. I am gonna wait until I get some funds from a sportbook in the mail so I can make a deposit that will give me a chance to give a good effort. What kind of money do you think it takes to compete in this thing?? Anyways, keep me updated on how you are doing on that site.

AzRusty...I will be back this week for some analysis. I have been pretty busy these last 2 weekends with tournaments. I havent been betting much at all the last 2 weeks at anything, baseball or anything at all. I will do my best to help you guys out some this week. It feels nice to be wanted

INdy

Couldnt' have said it better myself. I'm in the mid 60's so my finesse is not quite there yet. Kind of sucks that you can only practice your horse 2 times daily. But, I guess they're trying to make it seem as real as possible.

I really think you can win some serious coin on this site since the track operators have no financial gain in which horses win or lose. They get their 15% right off the top. This is some really cool chit, and whoever thought of this, is a friggin' genius in my book....

Also Indy, what is your horse's name that is really good at this point? I'm gonna throw a little coin on him tomorrow in his stakes race. Need a name and the time...

Recent Digiturf News......

Tuesday, May 08, 2001

The second of seven qualifying races leading to the $10000 Open Championship Race over 3200m on Digiturf championship day on July 31 took place on Monday May 7 and Keenan the Kid was too good in a maximum field of 14 runners.

Keenan the Kid, an eight-time winner from 12 career starts going into the 3200m qualifying race on turf in England, started favourite and raced away to post his ninth success by 1,83 lengths.

Flaming Rock, who was drawn on the outside of the field, took the chief consolation prize and was slightly more than a length ahead of Power Grey in third place with second-favourite Prince of War fourth.

Keenan the Kid has now earned $1314 and the grey is on track to multiply that amount several times on Digiturf championship day in July, when one $10000 and six $20000 championship events will be held.

Keenen the Kid heads the list of qualifiers for the $10000 Open Championship Race, having amassed 20 points to the 13 of Her Highness and Thunderstruck.

Keenen the Kid, however, is unlikely to take his place in the field for the Open Championship event. Digiturf has it from the horse's mouth that Keenen the Kid is being aimed at the richer Juvenile Championship Race for colts over 2200m on championship day. The race carries a stake of $20000.

Keenen the Kid currently heads the list of qualifiers for that event as well with 28 points to Frantic Frank's 23.

I don't really know anything about the ponies. Is this site a good place to learn what makes a good horse? Even if I don't get involved is it possible to watch a race as a spectator?

YES & YES....

Think about it, how many people at Digiturf do ya think have actually OWNED horses? I'd say not too damn many. It's a learning experience for I'd say roughly 99.9% of current Digiturf Owners have never owned or raised a real live breathing horse. The cash they're handing out is REAL, keep that in mind. The smarter you are and the better you train your horse, the more cash you'll earn. Trick is to be patient and get your horse into good form before ya tackle the races against the good ponies...

When you do decide to enter your horse in particular event, make sure you run him/her in a race that they have a chance of winning. You can filter these races on the setup screen so you'll have comparable competition. I'd say it will probably take a couple of weeks to get a horse in tip top shape. I entered a Maiden allowance yesterday for the hell of it just to see how my colt compared. I was #13 out of a 14 field race. Should have probably entered him in a Maiden JUVENILE race where he would have had a better chance.

I was actually sitting at my computer yelling for a horse on a computer to make me some dough.

And also keep in mind that entering your horse(s) in qualifying stake races DOES cost money in regards to entry fees, so make sure you pick your spots as you are only allowed 12 races per month...

I'm in.

Bought a crappy horse, though. Ran it in two barrier races at 3200 and it is only up to 62%. Maybe it's a quarter horse.

Love that site and thanks for turning it on to me.

Chip....

Hope not, cuz I've run 4 barriers and am only at 63%. Takes time.....If ya enter your horse in some stakes, I think his/her finesse will pick up faster than if ya just use only the Barrier races......

Think of the time difference, run barrier races once the clock hits 24:00Hr thats around 8pm out time and run your horse long 3200m and never run against the same age in barrier race.Sorun your horse against a 4YRD male and see what happens...then seconds after that run him again against same 4yrd and oppisite sex....barrier should raise by 5-8 points!

my fillie run short today 1000m and ent from last(9) to 5th with 100m left, she will love the added yardage next time out!
