How many of you guys actually think Badr Hari drives a KIA? Tiger Woods lost his Accenture sponsorship after the world found out he was aspiring to be a young Dolemite. Badr Hari flips out on a downed Remy Bojansky and still gets to keep his KIA endorsement. Just proves that Korean car companies are like the Junie Brownings of the automotive industry. Even though Badr Hari is a K-1 fighter, he does have an MMA record of 0-1 so technically this is MMA news.
Back in March, Badr Hari attempted to get into a Dutch nightclub but all efforts were thwarted by a bouncer who apparently didn't receive the memo that you should never prevent access to an establishment if that person has competed in K-1 and MMA. An altercation broke out near the front door which left the doorman with a fractured eye socket and a broken nose. Badr Hari allegedly fled the scene and became a fugitive wanted by the police. Reports also came through that Badr Hari allegedly 'went into hiding' because he had an affair with the wife of a prominent Dutch mob boss. While in hiding, Badr Hari was unable to participate in the K-1 Grand Prix which forced FEG to find a late replacement in Ben Edwards, a guy that was already KOd by Alistair Overeem in spectacular fashion in October. Rumors even circulated that Badr Hari was murdered and (or) faked his own death, all of which were untrue.
Badr Hari eventually turned himself into the Dutch authorities earlier this month and as of yesterday morning, Badr Hari is a free man. Well free in the sense that he was provisionally released from prison, but he's still a suspect in the case and if convicted, will face more jail time. Damn. Well, at least Badr Hari still has the greatest walk-out music in combat sports. [Source]
