AV2 - would love to break the 60% mark on the NRL but realistically it's highly improbable

With lots of rugby tests coming up which I intend to 'cap for all on board, considering whether I've got the time/info/ability to do AFL too - may just focus on rugby and rugby league.
Will probably do this week's AFL as there's only SoO2 and the NZ MAori v Aus game on otherwise and get a feel of whether I'm near the mark or not

Craig - simply the result I think of good cappers pushing each other hard, excellent advice and discussions, with huge imput from the Down Under version of IE - AV2

Anders,

Have to agree with your comments 100%. I think we are starting to build a nice group of Down Under cappers and between us we seem to have the three main codes covered.

As for the weekend just gone it was simply:

AFL

NRL

Anders,

Specialising may be a good idea - have you put together an NRL stats deal?

What I would like to see is (and maybe a good halfway point newspaper article that maybe is a good focusing punting one) is a good analysis - bit late for Super 12 of each team, and the importance of the players, strengths and weaknesses etc., you never see rugby league journalism like that that I can recall, then again, live in Melbourne, so we don't see it much at all, but on the web even

So you can combine some punting research with some stuff for the paper if you get your editor to buy it

I would also be interested in what you think is the relative importance of each position in a rugby league team, all other things being equal?

I wrote something once equating stuff to American terms for the foreigners, but don't think you need that for us, but it might enlighten the septics and others, anyway.

Same thing for rugby union of course would also be useful, as some of it may be instinct to you - or even to me occasionally in a rugby test at least, but putting it down in electrons would be handy.

Pity public access to statistics is so shitty for us, or would make it quite a bit easier. Lots of the important stuff not presented at all now, which is a shame.

AV2 - will do my level best to get something out this week along similar lines to what you've suggested.

Like I've said before, don't claim to be a specialist on these sports but aim to be able to break them down enough to make some money

Will put my slant on how I cap them, what I look for etc.

Have kept Super 12 ATS/covers records for the 2001 season and trying to regain ground after losing my NRL ATS/covers details recently

Will post this when I can. Don't think work will be interested; so many people don't have a clue about sports betting here.

And besides, it may give the Ed some clues as to how much time I spend 'capping

Anders,

I didnt mean put the betting stuff in the newspaper, that would be edited out. More the general review bit.

I have records etc. A mistake non computer types will make is not to back everything up in multiple places!

AV2 - yep, that's me; just one piece of paper and no back-up

If you were able to let me know points spreads for rds of the NRL this year that'd be
