The one thing I don't get with the play calling on third & 1 is why do you give it to Crockett. Garner is having a good game and is in the flow of the game. Gruden throughout the year is giving players like Kirby and Crockett token carries in games when they should be going to Garner & Wheatley.

I find it extremely interesting no one has addressed my comment on....

2 mins left and ONLY a 3 point lead and just running it and punting....

When the PATS just drove 80+ yards and scored and the Raider "D" could not stop BRADY who was 9-9 in passing !!!!!

NO ANSWER THAT !

:nono:

And you never will get an answer, everyone in the NFL is just against Al Davis & the Raiders (standard response from a Raider fan, not the facts). I have seen other teams lose in the big games due to questionable calls, (i.e NFC Championship - 49ers vs. Skins (1/8/1983), just part of the game. The Raiders came out strong but close the deal in the 4th quarter, kind of reminds we what the 49ers did last week.

IMO Oakland did the same thing they did to finsh the season out.
late in the game they could not put it away, 3 rd and 1 with Crockett running and not Charlie Garnner was the mistake. But the Defense lost this game in the 2 nd half buy giving up over 200 yards to Brady.

It was a tough loss if you are a Raider fan or a Raider bettor. However, it is clear that the refs did not blow the call. They called it according to the rules. The league will not come out and say they blew the call because the call was correct. They may say that the league will review that rule next year. Can't imagine why any team would ditch Gruden. Despite Davis's ego, he knows Gruden is one of the best coaches in the league and if he goes, he goes because he wants to go. Raider fans and bettors would be advised to complain to the league about the rule, not the refs, You can be sure that there was a league official or two consulted before that call was reversed.
