Do you realize it would cost approximately $300,000 per "saved or created" job. Better off writing people checks - especially when so much of this nonsense is so far down the road.

You never heard it from him, Smurph, because he could never talk about it then. Only now. Interesting to see his sensible talk about what will happen in the future - 90% taxes, doesn't that just make sense?
The most telling thing is that he is already planning on going on welfare - the thing he complains about in others as showing weakness and worthlessness. Doesn't that fully explain the fanatical me-first aspect of his politics?
Sun, I do pretty much agree with your last two posts, although it's probably difficult to pinpoint an exact amount, I think there is too much "extra" stuff in this bill, and I can't now say (after years of railing on Bush and the deficit) that it doesn't matter. It matters a lot to me, and I wish I could go in and take a lot of it out. Again, if there is a link to who had a hand in what in this package, I'd love to see it.
I certainly can remember the last stimulus package, where conservative republicans were awarded programs and pork as payment for their supporting votes to get it passed then. Plenty of conservative republicans signed on for stimulus and bailouts at that time - now they hold tight to the party line against the democratic administration...even after he removes objectionable parts of it after they discuss it with him, and afterwards.

Clinton and the REPUBLICAN CONGRESS had the last Balanced Budget, funny how Democrats want to give Clinton EXCLUSIVE CREDIT, but doesn't the CONGRESS hold the PURSE STRINGS? TIA.

Wease, I'm not sure why Schultz was in the front row, and I'm also not sure why that's a big deal? Schultz is about as even keel as you can get when it comes to being more left than right - not sure if you've ever listened to him or not. And he's not out of a job, he is a nationally syndicated radio host that's numbers have grown significantly and last I knew was in the top 5 or so of all national hosts.
they didn't stop it .... those 1/2 wits will have to take that to their fucking graves... not a problem for vessels without a conscience...

Didn't see the speech so can't comment--but as all politicians and speeches--it not what they tell you--its what they don't. If his speech was like those I've been reading you have to ask yourself--will his economical princples produce his "projected" benefits.

Here are elements of current bill and you can bet he will be expanding on them in next 4 years.
Granted we will see expansion unseen before in government and there will be boost in employment there--but what about the back bone- privite industry?
We have highest corp taxes in world--and now they will have factor gov push for unions-penalties for carbon emmisions- mandated wages to name a few. Not the best scenerio.
This is pretty harsh statement--but can't see myself ever having a portfolio of over 5% U.S. stocks ever again-regardless of which party is in power. I will be happy to elaborate but warn it will be lengthy--
