There are many parts of the game, football and basketball for example, where a ref can easily control the game. Holding is a big one. And most announcers act as yes-men and they'll say well yeah look his right hand was outside and he turned him there that's a great call.

There are so many ways these games can be manipulated w a couple players and/or one or more coaches...refs. It doesn't take much and as a fan I've lost trust in just about all of it.

Not can be manipulated...ARE manipulated! With the HUGE gambling push with all the sites, there is SO MUCH MONEY involved, and where there is BIG money involved, there is corruption! Thought it was interesting last night that on the blatant interference call at the end, LaFleur didn't even argue or complain...

I thought I had a backdoor cover and couldn't believe no flag. I rarely watch any NFL last decade or so but watched a lot over the weekend.

Right from the very first play I knew I was in trouble. For one, why run the kick out of the end zone when they'll give you 30 yards? (I didn't even know the 30-yard line rule til last weekend lol). But ok, run it out, fumble, recover own fumble plain as day on replay and they don't overturn it.

I think the bowl games this year showed a lot of what is going on. The Alabama/Georgia game also seems like the perfect script w all the in-game betting. Huge blowout then huge comeback and take the lead only to give it right back. So many games I feel like I'm watching the end of Remember The Titans. Especially ECU beating NC State on a 75 yard RUN in the last minute or so. But even worse than that was Georgia Tech beating UNC on what was basically a 70-yard walk off RUN touchdown.

Oh and while I could go on and on....how about the 76 yard screen pass that Texas gives up to Ohio State w 18 seconds left in the first half? I wonder if that affected the first half line lol pretty sure it did. But yeah I just try and pick the right narrative b/c while it may not all be completely scripted, it's most definitely manipulated and corrupt. And I agree. As games are played I try and see if I notice any odd body language from players and coaches. It's tough b/c many are actors but like you say, LaFleur didn't argue. He prob knew he was gonna get beat last week. And then Barkley slides instead of scoring? What was that about? It had nothing to do w strategy. The announcers called it "classy". Who the hell doesn't want 50 extra yards and a TD added to their stats. The game wasn't a blowout and even if it was, it was a running play so who cares. Oh well, would love your thoughts. I try not to go on tangents too much in this forum (I do at times lol) but figure this thread is perfect for me hahahaha

On Rams +3 and ML tonight. Also, Cooper Kupp anytime touchdown.

Weird stuff happens. Those things that you are describing are not how you fix games.

What about the blatant Packer recovery of the fumble on the opening play that wasn't overturned and the blatant PI on the Eagles in the end zone at the end of the game that wasn't called?

Yes. It was a conspiracy. They got the guy to fumble the kickoff. Then they got the same guy to recover it in a huge scrum. But then they didn’t give it to him because it was part of the script.

As for the missed pi calls get missed all the time. Not really in the top quartile of shirty calls. Shitty calls happen.

What I suggest you all do is go watch some sports you can’t bet on, like high school football. You will see all sorts of insane flukey shit cause that’s what happens in sports. You won’t recognize it in the same way because it doesn’t affect your bottom line.

I’m not saying sporting events can’t get fixed. But they are not fixed in the ways that are being described here and they are not fixed with massive scripts that would involve the cooperation of many people.

There’s a difference between mistakes, flukey shit, and fixes.
