On the course!
Spooge,

You just cant let a post go by without bringing up the President eh?

I'm siding with yyz on this topic 100%... and it is kind of funny to see who responded to what here... I think yyz was getting across that losing gamblers dont blame themselves for a loss... they blame "the fix".
Losing gamblers look to that silver lining... "football is coming soon, i'll win it back then" etc etc.

I don't think the original post was supposed to come across as "there is no fix anywhere in any game"

funny some of the people who came climbing out of the holes and defending the fix.

Congratulations, sir!

I certainly have never said NO games are fixed. I acknowledge the fact that it has, and is, and will happen.

But it IS funny when a guy will tell you that because this, that, and the other thing happened yesterday, this game was fixed! THEN, in the very next post, he will have his selection for next weeks games!!!!!

If you think the Kool-Aid is poisoned, why are you drinking it???????

That's one point.

Sponge, instead of hanging your hat on that NBA post you made last season, how about a new story? You pegged Brett this week, and you fumbled. Okay.......I'll give you a Mulligan. Each week, I want you to post your "fixed" games, and how they shoul pan out for us non-believers.

If you can show me something here, I will forever STFU about this nonsense. And none of this cloak and dagger bullshit with waiting until 10 minutes before kickoff! This shit isn't parimutuel! Once you've made YOUR bet, you shouldn't give two shits about what you post!

I'm sick of hearing about how some periodic scandals equate to every other game in sports being fixed you guys!

AND, another point I've made about this.

If you unknowingly bet on a fixed game, you still had a 50/50 shot at being right or wrong!

Sounds dumb, I know. BUT, you have as much of a shot as being on the right side, as the wrong, don't you?

Yes.....Games ARE "fixed" from time to time. It's like finding a band-aid in your food at a restaurant. What are you going to do? Either quit eating out, or keep eating and don't worry about it. The one thing you can't do, is tear you food apart every time you order for the rest of your life........

There is no way someone can bet a fix unless you are the one fixing it and to say that one can predict or wager a fixed game is absurd. It isn't about one post last year or about last weeks wagers. Anyone that states that they can spot, cap, or predict a fix that the themselves didn't make is ridiculous.

While I have never argued with YYZ's contention that most of us have just as good a chance of being on the fixed side of a game, as against it, I completely disagree that fixes do not happen. Of course they happen! If you don't think so you are either a complete moron incapable of simple logic, or just too dam stubborn to think about it for some reason. EVERY sport is rigged in one way or another.

In response to your thread of will the under fix be on tonight: Look, I know you made the post jokingly Eric, but I will still bite. Of course the fix won't be on tonight. Let's think about this for a second......if you were going to fix a game, would it be Monday Night Prime Time? NOOOOOOO. Also, who in their right fukcing mind would fix a game UNDER? you wouldn't! We aren't talking about a league wide 1,000 player conspiracy. We are talking about a few guys and a few refs who can be bought, and there are a plenty! Please do NOT even try to argue that point, or give me the millionaire BS. These fukcing degenerate crooks blow through more with drugs, hookers, houses, and cars than you and I will ever see in our life. To fix a game you need 1 MAYBE 2 guys to get it done. It's nothing overly obvious. How would they fix tonight for the under? They would have to call so many holding penalties on crucial plays and phantom shit, it would just be too obvious. Plus, with all the dogs barking this week, the powers that be aren't off right now. It's not enough to know what the public percentage is for a game, you have to know WHERE THE MONEY IS. The REAL money! If you think there aren't syndicates out there who can get to a guy or two, or that WOULD SET UP SOMEBODY TO GET THEM IN THEIR POCKET, you are as naive as it gets. How hard would it be to reel in one of these degenerate cornerbacks for example? Not hard! A little blow, a couple hookers and a video camera and BANG, you will lose everything when we show this to your wife, and leak it to the press. Or, we will destroy it unless you get burned for 3 TD's this weekend. Noone fixes an under. It's too tough! Now, take a game like the Texans and Atlanta yesterday (not saying it was fixed!). This almost fit the bill except the line wasn't quite right. Who in their right fukcing mind could think these two shithole teams could go OVER 40? Let alone 30 in one half! With no flukey stuff like INT runbacks or kickoff runbacks. Nobody! So the stiffs load up the obvious under and these two teams move the ball like they are playing a video game.

Lots of people fix games. The league fixes games, the mob fixes games, Vegas fixes games. It's happens! Why? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Even the PGA tour is not immune. They have set shit up for Tiger like I have never seen before. Why? The fukcing guy sells tickets! He is great for the game! He draws unprecedented ratings when in the hunt, and his pursuit of Nicklaus's records is great publicity. Or wait, are they stupid enough to believe they are 'Tiger Proofing' a course when they make it 7600 yards? What they are doing, is eliminating 65% of the field in most cases and THAT IS WHAT THEY WANT! It's a virtual money grab for all these guys right now, top level tour execs included.

I won't even dive into the NBA, I mean fukcing please! Did you see what they did for Jordan? My christ! Talk about handing somebody trophies!

How many games do I think are fixed? Not many...I would say an outright fix is on maybe 10-20 times per year (NFL). Now, are there some other little shady things going on like FDC mentioned? Hell yes. Small riggings, things nobody would see. IT HAS TO HAPPEN! IT CAN'T AVOID HAPPENING, PEOPLE ARE INVOLVED AND PEOPLE SUCK! It also has to happen for story lines, and 'the good of the game'.

These athletes don't live on an island when they aren't playing. To think that people don't get to them is insane! Refs especially! The best example I can give you of a rigged game that you will remember (NFL) is the Seattle/Pit Super Bowl. Flat out rigged, 100%, no questions asked. There were so many books ready to implode they had to do something! How anyone could watch that game and think otherwise is beyond my comprehension.

So bash away boys, yea I'm a nut:SIB Or, maybe YOU are! I am not saying I can spot the fix, until afterwards!

Vinny let me help you with something. I knew that was one of the biggest square games on the card and i never bet it anywhere. I put it in a contest because I don't mess with games with young quarterbacks who i feel are not on the take. I didn't bet one cent on that team or Atlanta. Vinny why don't you explain to me how you use to say how stupid everyone was that didn't notice games were rigged? You said this on more than one occasion yet now you seem to have flipflopped. because you have this new hardon for me. You are turning into quite the liar my former friend. All these free contest i am in was another little tale of yours. Im in about 5 paid contest and the only free ones would be a few on a site where im in three that you had to up money. Vinny in the news today i heard the govt is cracking down on porn so you might have a lot of time on your hands. Maybe you might have a little time to post some picks? Do you post picks anywhere Vinny or do you just bash other people who at least step up and pick? Let me know if im right here Vinny? Were you a big fan of Beantowns and then he went on a bad run so now you insult him all the time? BDB was it the same with him?

At this point Cie, you are contributing exactly 0 to this conversation. (as usual!) Either post a relevant fukcing point or take your man crush of Sponge to the other 6,000 threads you chase him around in.

Geezus!

I will do it again because im the only guy that can do it. I slipped last time but we will see next time.
In that same situation Favre lost about 20 straight. He finally won one because he was allowed to. Let me ask are you one of those nutcases that use to believe he couldn't throw in a dome? How could this even be possible but that was always the excuse when he pulled his stiff job. It will also be the same excuse next time he stiff (in a dome)and if that line is low next week and his side is getting hammered with cash there is no way in hell he covers two big money games two weeks in a row. OH hanging my hat on a post is ridiculous. There were about ten post in that thread. I will move on tho. IN closing i never once to anyone said all games are fixed. Not sure you said it but it gets old hearing this stuff.

yyz: note to self - never mention "fix" or "conspiracy". It causes Spooge to spontaneously orgasm.

This topic wasnt even about if games are fixed or not!

but no, sponge is so caught up in his fantasy that EVERYTHING is about the fix.

Go check yourself into a nice quiet little rehab center spooge. Seriously, you have lost it.

You need to get of of the basement stop smoking the weed & popping those percocets and clear your head.

I don't have a hard-on for anyone all I said is your I CALL BULLSHIT WHEN I SEE IT ! LIKE WORM , NOW YOU !

Vinnie's getting fired up. Sponge has that effect on people. :mj07:

I hate bullshit & he's full of it. :yup

You should see some on the lame ass excuses this guy comes up with when he lost a game.:sadwave:

I think he went broke because he e-mailed me asking when Jack was going to have some contests. Then he goes over to shrinks place and joins a few there and a few other sites.

The best is in the e-mail he tells me he's not a big contest guy. :mj07:

I would think the Super Bowl carries a tad more weight than a MNF match-up.

Chad, the whole point about tonight's game is that everyone seems to LOVE the over. With the "theory" that the public is always wrong because the books get the money, I was just trying to figure how the game might come in "under".

I didn't know I was stepping on so many toes with all of this shit.....

Let me outta here!

LOL! You certainly aren't stepping on MY toes. I do love your double standard you walk on though. Claim people who believe in fixes are nuts, yet claim you don't deny there are fixes 20 minutes later.

I said they had to fix that Super Bowl because books were crushed. It was a must.

Chad, let me spell this out one last time. I understand Sponge having trouble, but I didn't think you did, too.

I don't believe the leagues are involved in fixing these games. If that makes me "out of the loop", so be it. If you and Sponge want to tell me that I am watching nothing more than wrestling, well.........I guess that shit is bigger than finding a UFO!

On the other hand, you want to tell me in one breath they "had" to fix the Super Bowl, but wouldn't "dare" touch a MNF game??????

Holy shit, brother!

One thing I know about people and money? The more they have, the more they want. If "they" fixed the Super Bowl, they would fix any other game, too!

Oh, and like any good "conspiracy", how is this being kept quiet? You would certainly think some two-bit wise guy with an "in" would have said something to someone by now!

Stay tuned!
