When it comes to getting 6 weeks plus vacation time 10 11 days of sick days or paid holidays . Or if you have a business do you take off 6 weeks / year ? Its standard in Europe. Used to be here. How many still get it?.

We get 10-11 paid holidays a year, 15 days vacation use it or lose it after 5 years service, I have been here almost 18 years and 1 sick day a month can only accrue 60 days :0008

Been here 13 years-I get 2 weeks vacation and I get to come and go as I please- which is great when the kids are involved in all their sports and I want to go to the games/practice, etc. :00hour

We get major holidays off (New Years Eve we usually leave early, New Years Day, 4th July, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve we leave early, Christmas, and usually Black Friday.)

Guess thats pretty standard these days Most people cant even afford to travel these days. The first 2 years i spent my winter in Puerto Rico I had a 3 Br home on the ocean was there 4 months i offered ev one i knew to come down and stay free just do your air fare ya don't have ta hang out w me do your own thing, 1 person my Bible Thumping Republican friend came down and was the biggest scrounge i ever knew never went out to eat unless it was on a comp i got never went in to a club where all the lady sex tourists hung out sat on the curb or wandered in the mangroves while i was living large.. He also only shopped at Costco in Carolina . 6 weeks used to be Union negotiated when I was growing up and Joker doesn't like Unions

Because of Obamacare I work 90 days per year now. Things sure have changed.

The yearly period when people can enroll in a health insurance plan. For 2017 coverage, the Open Enrollment Period is November 1, 2016 ? January 31, 2017.

I've been with the same company for 15 years. I have always been 100% commission. That means I have zero vacation or sick days. We are closed on Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving and the 4th of July if it is during the work week.

When I started, I asked "how much vacation do I get". They said "we're not here to take vacation".

I am not kidding.

Thats fantastic these days u one fortunate MF. May i ask what field you work in?

I definitely feel fortunate. The benefits for the company I work for are amazing. Insurance paid for as well.

I work in finance and relations for a tech company.
