Wanted to share a recent experience about betting horses. Anyways, I was on my lunch break and decided to see what was happening in the horse world and I saw that Hollywood Park was running and a Maiden race about to go off. I looked at the tote board and notice some peculiar distribution of funds in the place and show pools. So I decided to make an exacta wager. After I put the wager in, I checked to see if it was active because there was a delay in accepting it. I musta fat-fingered my iphone and put the bet in several times. So, I only have less than 1 min to cancel the extra wagers. I do that and of course, as Jimbo would say, SON-Mon- Oh -BEACH
it hits. Doggin it twice!

Tough game these hosses!

Tough game these hosses!

Yeah, getting your ass burned is part of the game alright. I know how you feel, Hammy. Try to think of your last BIG weiner, that helps and I KNOW you had one :)

I try to forget them things (ain't easy) but one that still comes to mind is a LONG way back, at the track (Big A) I get a last second daily double bet in at the window with a 4-6 double bet.
Get out there to see them babies run and see that the no. 4 did win the first race at very nice odds; look at my ticket and see the bastage gave me a 6-4 double ticket. The no. 6 (the horse I wanted for the second race) was big odds and I figured I'd just let the whole thing go, thinking that nailing TWO high prices in the double just might not happen afterall ESP. at Aqueduct.

You know the rest... SON Ah MA BEEEACH !!

4-6 paid right at about $300.

While I'm here... . no. 1 in the 3rd race, "Tale of the Fox" got a HUGE figure from me. H-U-G-E .... not sure how to play it; looks like all the others have a chance and that usually means $$$ asfaras exactas go. Wheel job usually works, but I don't wanna hit a small exacta ESP. with my no. 1 in it. And his Morning line is 5-1. Wheeling is always the way to go for me, TOP n BOTTOM (you know, the ole ass burner thingy, he just misses and gets 2nd) and that method of betting at THIS TRACK is the way to go for me.

Be careful if you do follow this pick, my record is GREAT playing these Philly nags, but, for whatever reason - my record is POOR with BEST BETS. You might remember my last BEST BET, it was about a week ago, the no. 3 hoss that I said I was gonna "HAMMER"? Well, I liked that one A LOT and was gonna get out the $50 for that one even though his odds was double digits (my specialty) . LUCKILY, he looked terrible in the prerace and I DID BET HIM (no way I was gonna pass on him) but backed off and got out the fives dollar bills instead. He didn't lift a leg in that race.

Right now - I can't decide which way to go for today's 3rd race??

Good luck if you playi anything today.

Can you believe this.. I just checked in at TT and I see they made the decision for me... they scratched the no. 1. Don't whether to thank them or curse them out.

So much for that decision. Now it's a wide open race.

Sheesh, you picked the no. 6; I picked no. 2... how could we lose with them magic nos. ??

"Looker" angle was looking pretty good there in the stretch with that no. 4. LOOKERS have been working for me lately.

Went for a bit more ($) in that race :( with the multiple, NOT $2, tickets on that no. 2 in that zactas. He should have ran better than that, sloppy track should not have been a factor against that horse.

Getting a little PO'd... so LOOK OUT, Philly LOL.

No dancing so far

No dancing so far

They ain't running right for me SO FAR, Hammy.

When that no. 5 got out last - he was toast. I've had some great luck with the Dance A Lot in the past but no dancing for me today till now, anyway. :fit01:

Gotta be a Philly Special somewhere down the road a bit.

Well, 2 and 8 are a bit of a LOOKER and they're both prices. Gonna do something with them. 5th race.

Sure enough, I don't post it and I hit it. I don't believe anybody is playing along anyways, still not my day. Only $2 tickete on that race..... 2,8 top/bot with all the double digit nos. (there was only 3 of them).

I don't know what is going on with this track.. no. 3 was 20-1 and see what that freakin zacta paid? Hell, it was an 8 horse field. SOMB :(

Nailed him every which way (no. tries though) in this 8th race. Really saved the day for me.

I better post somethng in the 9th .. HOPE that doesn't jinx me.. it never did much of that before but I'm beginning to wonder now bout that.

I'm a happy camper right now. BTW, this Speight's horse does LUV the muddy twack.
