Starting day 1 tomorrow. Have everything set and ready to go. Did my food shopping for the week...plan on sticking to the diet closely. Did the pre-test today to get some baseline measurements to compare things to each month.

Good luck Saint. If you haven't been working out then I suggest going with really light weights and taking it easy. Everyone I've talked to said you'll be lucky to get thru the first week. Well today is a week for me and although it's been rough it's not too bad. I love working out and doing new routines so it's not too big of a deal but don't overdo it. I think that's why most people don't get past the first week. They go so hard it breaks their will.

I worked out several months and shed about 12 lbs. I'm going to start with the lean version...really just want to cut my body fat % and tighten up. After I complete lean I will do the regular version. I watched the chest day 1 video for the normal p90x and figured I'd cash out within 5 mins of that workout and it would be pointless. Did the day 1 of the lean (core synergistics) and didn't think it was too bad-

Did Day 1 chest and back today.

cashed out about 20 minutes in. did the rest of the push up on my knees like a b*tch.

finished the workout and felt good though. arms are kinda numb.

then i did the ab ripper disk.
I started crying at the 4 minute mark. I cried at the burn I felt in my abs, and at the thought of doing this disc 3 times a week for the next 90 days.

i need to do it so i can get in good enough shape to go kick Tony Horton's @ss for creating it and selling it to me.

that ab ripper disk is freaking brutal.

That's funny, I just looked over at my wife 5 minutes ago and told her I was being a little bitch and needed to sack up and do the classic instead of the lean version. So I will be restarting day 1 tomorrow. I read your post to her Marine she was laughing.

I'm also starting strong on the diet and like you Marine once I start this thing there is no stopping-

My wife got a kick out of taking the start pictures as well.

saint - do the workout in the evening tomorrow. I'd recommend doing it as close to bedtime as possible.

Yer arms are gonna be to stupid to move tomorrow after it. don't do the workout in the morning and ruin your day.

hey marine what did you think of plyometrics? I thought it was fun but I had to add a good 6 minutes of rest total throughout the workout to complete it.

3 signs I knew I was fawked during plyometrics:

1. I'm 7 minutes into the video, thinking to myself "this has got to be the workout and not warmup" as my pulse is 165 and Tony says on cue "okay people we're warming up if your struggling now you're in for a long hour.

2. 10 minutes into the video and 15 minutes after I had a little pre-workout snack, Tony informs me "folks this is the type of workout where you don't want to eat at least an hour before or you will toss your cookies"

3. I'm about to pass out from exhaustion and there is a one-legged man on the video hopping around like a kangaroo on an 8-ball

Exactly the reason I wouldn't quit the first time I did this video!

there is a set diet with every meal planned out but it's very complex.

There is an easier way...it lists servings of protein, fruit, carbs etc and what qualifies as each. It then has you calculate how many servings you need of each for each phase.

it's maybe 6 pages. get my email from jack and put p90x in the title...can help you out. may take me a few days

1st phase is the fat burner, tons of protein and extremely little carbs. I just saw a commerical for macaroni grill and almost slipped in my drool. I've never gone little/no carbs and i can definitely feel the lack of instant energy. it's also been an adjustment eating a shitload of protein but like anything after a few days it's routine. 2nd and 3rd month add more carbs. the only thing i ordered from them is the recovery drink after reading some reviews...i've got to say it really helps me. Also get some whey protein and protein bars...sometimes it's much easier to have some whey vs eating 6 egg whites.

Yea, Plyometrics was a real treat. I laughed when he said dont eat an hour before this workout. it's like "oh boy.. this puts the X in P90x" :D

My legs have always been one of my stronger areas, that said.. I was able to hang pretty well throughout the whole workout. It was brutal, there is no other way to say that, but I felt that the chest & back workout was much harder and my body was immediately sorer after that workout.

1 day later.. my quads & hips were aching. plyometrics workout definitely had a delayed soreness factor on me.

I'd rather do plyo than chest & back.

I'm on yoga today, and while having never done it before... I am looking forward to it as it will be challenging, but I dont think it will result in the same hurt factor on my muscles.
