I'm working on the 1st week of the 2nd phase. was a lil bit rougher the first few days after that nice rest week!

weight wise...

hopped on the scale - i am exactly the same weight as when i started.. right down to the tenth of a pound.

however-
feel a million times better, pants are a bit looser, and arms and chest are noticeably bigger.
and my schnocker is superhuge.

that's great news, I've heard in phase 3 we need to be able to do cock pushups

Been following this thread with thoughts of possibly trying the program. Suddenly, I'm VERY interested and looking forward to the next phase update!:00hour

My neighbor and his wife started P90 several months ago and have both moved onto P90X. He is very excited about it. Says it is brutal but worth it. Before he started said he could only do 5 pushups. Now he's doing over a hundred. Also buys their shakes and supplements. I believe the shakes are Shakeology and Beachbody is something along those lines.

Saint,

Technical question. I've downloaded the free files on the website. Did you burn them to dvd? Is the quality okay?

Thanks,

B

me and wifey are going to try it out.....we read the 4 pages of comments and seems like it will be 90 days of boot camp.....

found brand new unopened p90x for 54.95..free shipping..couldnt pass it up

alos bought the 'chin up bar'...

been working out..1 hr cardio t,th and 15 min cardio...1 hr weights , m, w,f for 2 months now....still can't get rid of the gut..

legs and arms/shoulders have more definition....its the damn stomach'/love handles...I can't get rid of...hopefully nutrition and muscle confusion will help...

turning 41 in august and I know losing weight doesn't get easier..

actually looking forward to this....chin-up bar holds up to 300 lbs...i am 275 right now...hmmmm..not much variance there....:SIB :SIB :SIB

Good Luck! I've been doing it for about a week and a half now. The workouts are the easy part (although I don't do as many reps as they do every time - depends on the exercise).

I can tell you, you will feel great after a week of doing this - I can tell the difference, although I haven't lost much weight yet, I can tell I'm getting a bit slimmer and a bit more definition in the arms...

I think the hard thing is the diet part - my wife and I are doing this together, and we are following the diet pretty closely.... it is a very boring diet - basically fish and vegatables for supper most of the time (the recipes they have are WAY too much work for us)...

Instead of the pullup bar, I went with a Power Station by Gold's Gym - got on sale at Sports Authority for $200. Well build piece of equipment, and it holds me easily and I am 250 pounds when I started. I didn't like the pullups bars I found - mainly because I didn't want to damage my doorframes or screw them in (some screwed in), and I wanted to feel "safe" when doing them.

The other nice thing: the Power Station has an "assist" feature - basically a pad under your knees to help you out as you start getting into pullups... I'm 46, and I'll admit I couldn't just walk up and start doing chin ups like I was 18 anymore... the assist lets me build my strength until I can do them without any "help" - and I'm almost there already!

Love this program - only lost 5 pounds the 1st week, and can't wait to see what I'm gonna lose this week, after working out hard and following the diet so very closely....

Like I said, good luck!

good luck getting started dude.

yer gonna have to push hard the first week. day 3 you are not going to want to start because you will be so sore. push thru the first week and its all downhill from there. until week 5. then it sucks again.

Good luck you sound like you are in good shape to start it. To lose the love handles it's all gonna be about the diet. Like marine said the 1st 2 weeks are tough but after that it gets fun because you are able to handle the workouts and really see improvement from one week to the next. The pictures to start sound cheesy but they are great for motivation.

I'm really happy this ongoing thread is getting others into it. In a way you will get kind of obsessed with it.

Just know that for the 1st month you will fail a lot and no way will be able to keep up with them on everything...just go till you can't and you'll see gains.

HOLSY SHIT :scared

We need details about that burger!

1. Where is that?
2. How big is that thing?
3. Has anyone ever finished that bad boy?
4. Did you deep throat the pickle or take it down in bites?

Been reading some of this thread and thought I would chime in. I am currently on week 3 of my second round of P90X. I started last March and finished in June - and started again. The results really suprised me. I wasn't having my wife take pictures of me at day 1, 30, 60, and 90 etc (thought it was kind of gay), but wish I had as the results have been great.

I was by no means fat - 5-9 about 175 when I started - and ran a half marathon in the October 2008 so in decent shape; however, I was "soft in the middle" as I like to put it. So I started P90X.

I did all the lifting, Ab ripper, and plyo (which I thought was the most difficult workout), buit skipped days of yoga and kick boxing shit as it just felt weird. I replaced those workouts with 4-mile runs. I was more of a runner than a lifter when I started and wanted to keep that going.

Results were more than I thought I would get. I am only down to 168 after 4 months of this, but lean as hell. The most impressive thing is looking back at what I could do the first week (via the chart) and comparing to what I can do now and it amazes me. Results in the arms, chest and back have been great.

Since I am doing it again, I am somewhat sick of Tony's terradactyl impression durnig the warm up of at leat 3 of those cds, but I feel great after doing it. Round 2 I have been doing the lifting on Day 1, 3, and 5, and running the 4-miles on day 2, 4, and 6 (day 7 rest) with Ab Ripper X on running days.

Some final thoughts - I started with 10, 15, 20 pound dumbells and a 25 pound resistance band for the pullups - that's it. If you can do it, pick up a pull up bar b/c I think you will see even better results than just using the bands.

Good luick to ya'll who are going to try it.

Lost 2 inches off waist....40 waist which is even a little loose...:scared :scared

Belterra didn't help..LOL...so, far VERY pleased with results..
when I started I couldn't do 3 push-ups..today on Chest, Shoulder, Triceps, I did around 25, no knees, total througout workout....

p90x works...to be successful, it is a TOTAL mindset/nutritional change and way of eating/working out/living...
