Super Bowl legacy
Summerall has broadcast 16 Super Bowls on network television with CBS and FOX, more than any other announcer. He also contributed to 10 Super Bowl broadcasts on CBS Radio as a pregame host or analyst.

Grew up listening to him on Sunday's in Stillwater as he did a lot of the Dallas Cowboys games as a kid.
Met him in the Jax airport a number of years ago as he had a place in Ponte Vedra. Very nice man.
I can hear him now.

RIP

Watched him in person at US Open Tennis in 1975 doing commentary with Howard Coswell. He was drinking then and was pounding the Miller beers. Orantes came back 0-5 match point in third set versus Vilas to win in 5 sets. He kept pounding the beers the whole match in the booth with Coswell. Later he quit drinking . What a great announcer.

Yep, simply one of the best announcers of all time and a damn good football player to boot! RIP Pat!
