Punch, (or anybody else) do you have any idea what the tickets are going for and are they even available? I'm thinking of making that long awaited trip to Vegas for a good fight. A buddy wants to go and we're thinking of spending a few hund on seats. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Are there any other Vegas cards that wk for Thur, Fri? Thx.

Here's a link Romi

Most expensive seat is 600- not bad for ringside in Vegas and with Pavlik- you get your money's worth almost always. Others are 400,300, 200, 100

My experience is it's worth paying the extra for the good ones.

Should meet up with me and Frank S for a couple cold ones.

At first this fight had little interest for me. But as I thougt about it more, there are many ramifications. I see this unfolding as a Pavlik win over Taylor. Taylor moves up to 168. Pavlik defends his title once or twice, then moves up also. After that the crystal ball gets a little cloudy.I don't see this fight as a huge draw. Maybe low priced seats can be had then old pull the old "upgrade" trick.

Being a local, here's what I've done succesfully at fights that aren't a huge draw and that's just walk towards the boxoffice as the undercards are underway, and you'll see numerous scalpers trying to sell tickets. Some of these dudes look like they just came from the projects and are connected to one of the fighters who was granted so many tickets to give to friends and now these dudes actually have a chance to pay their child support by selling these tickets. If the dudes has a 600 dollar seat for sale, show 3 Bens to his face and it's hard for them to walk away from that. I've had one scalper gladly take that and another follow me around after I wouldn't offer anymore until he gave in.

We have done that also, especially with these kind of fights. Once at Mandalay we got into one of those boxes, special passes. food and booze for $50 a pop. Unless there is a monster undercard, this fight is a fans fight more than less me thinks.

I'd jump on that in a hearbeat but isn't this one going to be a sell out? I'd be a little worried of not getting in or even being forced to pay a little more than face value. If you think this way is pretty safe, then I'd go for it. Let me know what you guys think. BTW I saw that Mijares is fighting Jose Navarro. Not a bad fight but I'd like to see 1 more decnt matchup on the card.

I agree with the card needing another decent matchup but your right, if the demand is high for the fight, depending on scalpers can be risky. I can mess around a bit more since I'm local. If it's your only fight or 2 of the year, you might want to secure it.

I would try to secure THIS fight Romi. I think it will be in high demand as the last fight was a bit of a slugfest.

you guys could not have been anymore timely with this post. I booked my flight out there earlier this week and am now debating how much to sink on tickets. few thoughts/questions if any of you have some time:

- I saw punchmaster mention ringside for 600, but if you go into TM you can see the best you can do is section L3 row K or something similar.

- if that is the case, i would think the $300's are the best value seeing they only put you back about 10-12 rows from those seats...that is unless my eyes are failing me

- regarding "upgrading", i have seen a few fights at the Mandalay but have not been to the MGM. last time out for the Bhop/Winky fight the guards were pretty tough and made it virtually impossible to move down. any advice on how it might work at the MGM?

- the scalping sounds like the best bet as long as we get there early before the place starts filling up. Only thing I am having trouble with there is gauging the interest of this fight - you guys in the know seem to think there isn't much, correct?

- punchmaster, if you were paying for these and securing seats right now, which ones would you grab based on the bang for your buck? or would you buy the cheaps to get in and move down?

sorry for the novel, but am debating about whether to pony up and make this an X-mas gift or to wait unti we get out there.

thanks

If this fight is properly promoted this fight to me should be huge. HBO 24/7 would be a start.

it seems like the demand for this fight is going to be pretty high, sponge made a good point about 24/7 and if you say when you go on TM and ringside is gone ...... so I'm thinking depending on scalpers is gettting risky and just secure the seats. I would go for the best 300-400 seats available which can actually be better than floor seats. From my experience, honestlly if your back any further than 10-12 rows on the floor your better off going up in the loge just off the floor which will put you at eye level with the fighters. Two sides of the ring, say North South will have 20 plus rows of floor seat to accomodate media , etc. while the other sides say East and West will only have 12 or so rows of seats before the lower loge starts.... if you can nail those sections- you scored huge. I'd go for the best 400 dollar seats. Just bet a shitload on Urbano Antillon tomorrow night and he'll end up paying for your seats :00hour

This will not be on the level of a DelaHoya fight or fight of that nature. This is a fight fans fight. For Mayweather-Hatton all the hollywood numbnuts were there. Never watch a fight all year, but come out and bullshit the whole time. Could'nt score a round if their life depended on it. Taylor had his brain reconfigured and many did'nt watch or never heard of Pavlik. As the spongs says, if they go 24/7 maybe thay can hype this. Peace.

So who do you like in the fight Romi? Or maybe you said already and I missed it. I see Taylor getting his butt handed to him again. As Lowe, Pavlik's trainer said, they will MAKE Taylor fight. He figures to pace himself and fight from long distance with the jab racking up points. Once burned, twice shy. He NOW knows what TNT Pavlik has in his fists. At 6'2" the extra 6 lbs. I feel is a boon to Pavlik. He is a big boy. A close fight maybe, but I go will KP.

Not even sure if I'll wager on it. I think it's close and obviously Pav has to be favored but I'm not counting out a JT upset. I thought JT was having his best fight as a pro up til the KO. Pav went down really hard in the 2nd round so that would concern me a little to put heavy money on him. What a heart though to have risen from that. I'm just looking forward to a good fight and a good time. Hopefully the prelims will offer some decent odds.

Hope you have a good time. I don't know how long you are staying, but if it's a few days or so, we have this new deal for locals to get comp or cheap tickets for shows for the nite. They e-mail us and we get ticks for that nite only. This is done every day. We usually only go on the w/e's so if you are around and are interested get my e-mail from the admins and we can look into it.

Just watched the first one again last night. Just a nice solid boxing match like the old days. To me this is a top five fight of the year. Franky is right tho this will never match the Hype of a Mayweather fight and it is sad because this will be ten times more entertaining if Taylor comes to get his belt back. We all know Kelly won't be there just to get a check. Anyone ever get the real reason Taylor dumped Stewart? I don't think god could help Taylor in the corner. He just refuses to listen to anyone. Might need a bull horn to get thru to him in the corner. well guys have a blast cause i know im jealous as shit.

At 166, I don't think a belt is at stake. This isn't a middle weight fight. It's some kind of bastard weight class. It should be good anyway.
