My father lives outside of Sheybogan-- on a farm- his mailing adress is Cleveland. Ever play golf at Whistling Straights? Its the links course that runs along the shores of Lake Michigan. Great golf course-- but it will cost you 300 or so by the time you are done. My dad's house is about a 1/4 mile from there. You can see the Lake if you are standing on top of his barn

Hmmmmmmm.......just off the top of the head; Consumer Reports, Motley Fool, James Cramer's Site, Digiturf, Paypal, etc..etc..
To tell ya the truth, the "pay" thing might not be a bad idea. I'm sure $25 bucks isn't gonna put a strain on anyone except maybe Butter Bean. As someone pointed out earlier, ND's NFL picks are worth MUCH MUCH more than that! If Jack doesn't need the extra cabbage to run the site, then he could put all the annual membership fees into a big pot and have some more mighty fine contests throughout the year...
Successful "pay" sites?
Stanford Wong's Blackjack Forum has over 1100 folks putting out $50 a year to use his private forums. There are still plenty of posts in his free section, but I would think the Pay part gets the better quality stuff.
....and that equates to over $55,000 per year that his site gets that it would not have gotten otherwise.

the more i read this thread the more it sounds like the beginnings of a pay for picks tout site being born. i thought this was a free and public forum to exchange information and picks. yes there is good information and the other stuff that we all have to wade thru. but there are ways to highlite the good information, if you feel that a particular thread/capper is good respond to that thread it doesn't matter what you say but the many responses will highlite the thread/capper and at the same time keep the thread at the top of the list. now if the capper is that good then MJ can promote him to the free picks section with nolan della. to me there is a group of members at this forum who are against touts, "scamdecappers" who are driven by greed and looking for "suckers" and are here to share our varied knowledge and information with the goal of beating the "man". personally i hope to be a part of this group someday.
