not very strong as MC at this years masters and MC and 47 in last 4 years of PGAs ... am looking more at current form and tend to devalue the PGA as relative major ... if beems and micheels can win ill take my shot at current form

Paul Casey announced on his web site that he will wait until tomorrow to decide if he will give it a go at this week's PGA Championship.
"I will head to Hazeltine on Monday but not hit any balls until Tuesday and then make the decision," Casey wrote. "I stayed put in Akron over the weekend and received treatment each day in the Tour physio truck ... We have an important run of events for the FedExCup and also the Race to Dubai, so I will hope that any layoff is as short as possible.

@Paul_Casey Making a decision tomorrow as to playing this week. Hit some balls today and felt good. If it's no good i'll make way for someone else.

Still thinking Toms over Casey? I read your post last week about Casey being injured. Toms is the accuracy leader in drives. But this course suits length....

as long as the course is wet the greens will be soft. I mean rich beem won here. I dont think length is that big of factor, all of the majors are long..
That year Chris Riley, Fred Funk and Justin Leonard were in the top 5 (It was 7360 then)

All they were talking about on the Golf channel and that included the pro's was that it's very long and it will suit the long hitters very well. But I get what you're saying. Toms is very accurate for sure. Leads the majors

Round 1 plays (2pts):

Camilo Villegas to beat Hunter Mahan +116 @ Pinnacle [also available @ Extrabet, SkyBet, Unibet and WSEX]
A decent price to back Villegas in this matchup. Mahan may be the better player at finishing tournaments, but Villegas is much better at the start of tournaments: he has shot the lower 1st round score in 11 of their last 14 common events and has been inside the top-30 after the opening round in each of his last eight starts. Add in Villegas' consistency in Majors - he has made the cut in his last six, whereas Mahan has missed the cut in four of seven since the start of last season - and this does look a value price.

Justin Rose to beat Rory McIlroy +100 @ William Hill
Rose is another who famously starts events better than he finishes them. He is also in better form than McIlroy with finishes of 16th, 13th and 29th over the last five weeks versus 46th, 47th and 68th (of 79) for McIlroy, plus Rose is also a very good Majors player: he has finished in the top-20 in 7 of the last 11 Majors.

Pat Perez to beat Ross Fisher +134 @ Unibet [also available @ Extrabet]
Decent price to back a player who finished ahead of Fisher last week and has been playing well in recent weeks following his return to the Tour after tearing his ankle ligaments in May. Perez has a decent record in this event - 6th and 18th within the last four years - and while Fisher did finish 5th in the U.S. Open in June, he has never finished in the top-25 in any of his other 11 strokeplay events in the U.S.

The PGA is not major in my mind. It's not a big deal, it's merely interesting. A journeyman tournament for a better than journeyman field.

Tiger's on fire, he could win 10 in a row, I know this. I wish I was more of a Tiger fan, then I could really get behind his accomplishments. I just can't drum up any kind of support though. I do realize I am witnessing history though, and I get a blast out of that.

To win WITHOUT WOODS MARKET----
Furyk to win 41.00 sia

Just stay out of trouble and grind out pars, and maybe we'll get lucky on Sunday. This has not been Furyk's best year, or even better years, and that is why the odds are long for him. I'm betting he can get his game together for four days and win or finish second to Tiger.
