Phoenix566--

Great program, and thanks for sharing it with us. It does work in Excel 97, as that is the version I'm running on my computer.
Dropped a check in the mail with a note explaining why I was making the donation.
Thanks again for all your hard work in creating this great database.

Great program Phoenix! I do have an question though, I tried to enter a parlay under other @ -166 money line at 1.5 units. I typed in W and it listed the result as -249. Can't seem to figure it out. In fact on the other sheet, I listed a -225 fav at 1 unit as a winner and it showed $0 in the +/- column. Thanks.

Great job, as was the last one. Takes some fiddling for me though, cuz I bet the same amount on every game, including favs, so I have to "back out" the units on those. Works great though. Thanks!

Cisco, If you are having trouble downloading, ask Jack to send your e-mail to me and I will send the program.

I tried to enter a parlay under other @ -166 money line at 1.5 units. I typed in W and it listed the result as -249. Can't seem to figure it out.

Parlays MUST be entered as a + line. Is the parlay something like this:

risking 166 to win 650.

If so your takeback is +392 (650/166 - rounded)

You would enter +392 under the parlay line. You would also have to enter 1.66 under units (assuming your unit equals 100) in order for a loss to be calculated.

** Side note - Only 1,2...10 unit plays are tallied in the By Unit section. If you play 1.5, 1.66, ... they will not be included in the by unit section. They will still be included in the other tallies. **

In fact on the other sheet, I listed a -225 fav at 1 unit as a winner and it showed $0 in the +/- column.

Are you referring to the earlier version? This should not happen in version 1.0

I think I'm doing something wrong. I don't have Excel but I have Microsoft Works Spreadsheet. It opens but if I click on any topic besides Other if says that it is encrypted or password protected.
I'm obviously too stupid to figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.

If you are trying to click the tabs at the bottom of the spreadheet (MLB, NFL, NBA,) and getting this message, then Works is not able to open the file correctly. You will need excel to use the program

I do not have Works, so I can not field test it that program. It would seem since they are both Microsoft, they should be compatible, but I really don't know. Perhaps one of MJ's computer literate will know.

NJ, get me your e-mail address either through Jack or visionary. It let me save it as an Excel 95 workbook. I can send you this copy and you can see if it works. If so, I can ask Jack to post this version as well for those that do not have 97 or higher.

Phoenix, When I enter a date in any date field on any sport it just shows ###########. Even the dates you had as samples on the NHL page show as ############.
I tried to change the font size and the column width, but couldn't. It is the kind of error you get when a column isn't wide enough.

Anyone else have this problem?

If you get me your e-mail I will widen the columns and send to you.

Does everything else work OK?

FYI,

There will be a version 2.0 (not sure when though). I have already started to make some enhancements such as accomadation for parlays where you are laying juice, breaking down favorite and dog selections by money line versus spread (or R/L) and adding a 'variable' unit tracker (for those who want a snapshot of x.x unit plays, 11 and above, etc......). These thoughts for enhancement came from this thread. If anyone else can think of a way to improve upon the program, please feel free to share and I'll see if it can be programmed.

Thanks for the kind words and charitable donations boyz.

Never Caught Up ? What version of Excel are you using (or other program)? If it's anything other than Excel '97 or 2000, the cell properties might be different (ex: the date might be in a longer format like xx/xx/xxxx).
