Am I nuts to think the Jets will win outright next weekend?

Not really............they already went out to SD once this year and kicked the Chargers ass..........so why not again??????

Ok:

Let's insert a note of sanity here: The Vkings are a spineless, weak, self-obessed team who have no idea how to win, let alone win in GB in Jan. No idea on whether GB cover, but the pathetic Vikings lose the game.

It takes heart to win in GB in Jan, and the viking have proved again and again that they have none. They lost at home to Seattle recently, for God's sake!!

As for the Jets, well, what can I say? Pennington has proved to be a whiny prima donna who can't doesn't rise to the occasion. The Jets' secondary is nearly as bad as Minnesota's. However, a team with Curtis Martin and also good run stoppers can beat an over-rated SD.

Vikings lose...Jets win outright. Easy, huh?

beating a team 3 times in the same season is tough enough.
trying to beat them 3 times in a row when youve given up 31 ppg to them makes it even more difficult.

vikings backed into the playoffs. big deal.

they know they can score at will on the packers.

vikings are one and done at most, but they win in green bay.

myth---a team can't beat another team 3 times in one season

fact--it's happened 15 times before with the team having won winning the first two meeting winning game three 10 of 15 times

this week:
stl and gb fit the equation...but stl is on the road.

never said that it cant happen.
never said that it hasnt happened.

I would still prefer to be the team that won those two games and scored 34 ppg. I don't see any advantage for Minny in this game to where I would be so confident that they win SU.

Plus, backing into the playoffs like they did and the look on their faces at the end of today's game, which were ones of total dejection (coupled with Tice's coaching 'ability' in a big game), I just don't see it.

hoops:

valid point.
i just think this is the one team minny WANTS to see. i wouldnt trust them against any other team or in any other matchup.

theyre on borrowed time. i actually think theyll play loose and play well. they really dont deserve to be here, but they drew a favorable game imo

Sure it can happen. Both teams are shitty, IMO.

I just hope I can find some stooge from Minny to buy my tickets for an outraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagous price!

As for giving up 31 points per game to them, that's okay........just as long as the Vikes continue to give the Pack 34

I'm w/ gamn2 on this one. Living in minny I feel as though I have a good pulse on this squad. I was on Arizona last game last year and I was on wash today. I think Minny comes out relaxed and throws up a 35 spot. Having watched both games this year Minny has not gotten that "lucky bouce or break" if you will in the two games against GB. I think if you were to ask knowledgable GB fans Minny is a dangerous team as they are so familiar w/ one another. Two 3 point losses this year for Minny to GB. I suspect things may just even out in the karma department?????? Getting 5.5 does not hurt either.

Oh, and how weak is Edwards big-game coaching? Going for two in the third Quarter proves a basic misunderstanding of mathematics - I notice that Dan Dierdork heartily approved of the decision at the time....I rest my case.

I'm a Jets fan, but they have been beyond disappointing this year. We desperately need John Abrahams back next week, or we are in big trouble.

The good news is that the Chargers are really not that good. They play in a poor division.

Well, there is a reason their coach has been fired from other jobs around the league......and a reason why their QB was replaced by DOUG FLUTIE last year, for God's sake!!

Tomlinson, though, is the real deal. That's why we desperately need Abrahams back next week to shore up a good run defense.

SD is a decent team, all I'm saying is they are very beatable, even by this extemely fallible Jets team. They played very well against Indy and were unlucky not to win, but the Jets are very different from Indy. Jets rely on the short passes and running game and their defense keeps them in every game....kind of almost the exact opposite of Indy.
