The Villanova Wildcats (18-12) are in Washington DC to do battle with the Georgetown Hoyas (16-13). Nova is -3.5/142.5. Game time is 8:00 pm on Peacock.
The Hoyas beat The Cats in Villanova 64-63 earlier this season as Nova went scoreless in the last 5 minutes of the game. That game destroyed any hope Villanova had of making the Big Dance. In that game, Nova’s second leading scorer, Wooga Poplar played only 8 minutes. Thomas Sorber, Georgetown’s best defender, played the whole game. Sorber is out tonight and his replacement, 6’11” Fielder has a bad back. Wooga Poplar will play the whole game. The handicap is easy in this game. Of course, it may not work. But Villanova is deeper, more talented, has a revenge factor and wants to have momentum going into the Big East Tournament. Georgetown has Micah Peavy (16.4 ppg) and little else.
