Nova Report
The Villanova Wildcats play the VCU Rams in an NIT round on the Nova campus at 9:00 pm eastern on ESPN2. Cats are -6.5/130.5.
VCU was knocked out in the A-10 Championship round by Duquesne 57-51. Villanova lost to Marquette in OT which ended their NCAA chances. All 3 Big East teams who played in the NIT last night lost which doesn’t bode well for the Cats. The NIT is all about which team has motivation. To me, VCU has something to prove.
Statistically, both teams are pretty equal. VCU is led by their guard Shulga (15 ppg). Bamisile came alive vs. Duquesne scoring 20 of the Rams 51 points. On the Nova side, Dixon continues to be steady. Moore struggled vs Marquette as did Hausen (2-20 from 3 in last 4 games). Longino is out with a knee injury.
I can’t see Nova running VCU out of the gym….so..
