The 3-1 Wildcats are in the Bahamas to take on the 3-0 Texas Red Raiders at 2:30 pm Eastern. Cats are-4.5/129.5. Texas Tech plays 4 guards and a 7 foot center and is known for a suffocating defense. They’ve allowed only 20% from 3 and have allowed opponents to get to the free throw line only 5 times per game. In fairness, they’ve played 3 teams where they were favored by over 16 points. On offense, they have struggled even against lesser opponents and they have turned the ball over 22% of the time.
Nova won by 17 vs Maryland last out. In the first half, they played like a Top 25 team as they were intense defensively and shooting over 60%. In the second half, they couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn. Nonetheless, they know they have the potential. We’ll see what today brings.
Texas Tech is led by Pop Isaacs (11.7) ppg and 7 footer, Warren Washington (9.7 ppg/8.3 rebounds pg). Their team is populated with transfers as they start players from WVU, Nevada and two from ASU.
This game looks like a repeat of the Maryland game. Nova should start strong and hopefully finish strong. They defend better and shoot better than the Red Raiders.
