Cie, my last post about it. Seems like the Madjack's crew is pretty thick, have been around for a long time and play at the sponsored books since if there is a prob, Jack will assist.
Seems bush league that the thread was created, especially since Griff is one of the more visible/generous book personalities here. Being the brain dead past club drug user that I was, it seems that a simple call to Griff would have answered your question if he sent the email requesting your id to prove your identity.
It seems to me maybe 9 of 10 MJ posters would have done what I mentioned before making this thread about possible phishing. There obviously was some concern on 1v's end. They just didn't make it up. People do funny things to save face.
I'm not here to poke cheap shots at anyone, contrary to how I was 8 or so years ago.
I am obviously a bonehead since I still see nothing wrong with my posting this thread. If there was phishing involved, it would have been someone impersonating G. When I receive phishing emails from yahoo mail, I don't think of it as a strike against yahoo mail. Rather, I assume that some cheesedick hacker is behind it. In this case, it seemed as though someone was impersonating 1V. Had I been requested to send in a photo ID, I would have declined and moved on. As stated in my initial post, the fact that a photograph of me holding my ID was requested is why I thought it was a scam. At no point did I feel or state that 1V or G was involved in the possible scam.
Anyway, in this very thread I thanked G for handling the situation and indicated that I would patronize his establishment now that a photo of me holding my photo ID is no longer required.
I will add that next time I will call Jack immediately, since he resolved this case of mistaken identity immediately upon finding out about it.
