tell me more about the Bears sucking and that whole worst franchise stuff...................it all rings so prophetic

sorry I made a losing prophecy. perhaps in the future I should consult your knowledge. I'm sure to make many more in the future too. just wait.

yes, the bears will win more than 5 games because they already have, and yes they might even make the playoffs. but you do realize they haven't beaten a team with a winning record yet don't you.

4-5 detroit twice
4-5 minnesota
2-7 baltimore
2-7 new orleans
2-7 san francisco

i wouldn't feel too confident about those monsters of the midway yet. i've always enjoyed the bears ever since their super bowl shuffle growing up. but even you have to admit that the mcaskey (sp?) family is a joke, and the franchise has been run to the ground in the last 20 years. if you don't, well then you really are a die hard bears fan.

final 4,colts finally beat the pats at home and bust out the next week vs the jags..
afc,,jaguars over colts,,coming out year for leftwich
nfc,,
panthers over atlanta
superbowl, the top 2 defences play the lowest scoring supebowl ever and the panthers win it 9-6.
would pick the exact final 4 today.got a nice future on the jags and panthers also.

I am a die hard Bears fan and do believe that McCaskey's are scum. I also feel that everyone should consult my knowledge before making any great and/or laudable decisions however, the Bears did not give those teams those records they only contributed to them. They have also been absolutely riddled with injuries, maybe more so than any other team, in the past few years. Poor coaching and bad offensive schemes have contributed to their recent failures, however if you look at their position players on both sides of the ball they have a good amount of talent and have played teams with a better combined record than Carolina this week and I am quite sure you would consider them a playoff contender. Wouldn't you? Have you seen the combined record of the the Seattle Seahawks opponents? Yes the Bears have padded their record against losing teams as have many of the other teams in the NFC. Those teams, however, don't have the NUMBER ONE defense in all of the NFL. Nor do they all have the running game the Bears have. Time will tell how good this team will or can be as some of their players return later in the season but the Super Bowl shuffle is long gone and if one were to take notice..............this years defense is better in most categories than the 85 defense including total, points, yards.......yeah they suck.
Cheers

I would consider them a playoff contender.

and no, they don't suck. but going into the season again, i would still say they suck. they have proved me wrong, and that's part of whats fun about digging these posts up. All I had to judge on was past history, and ownership...both which suck.

chad hutchinson was the quarterback going into the season. benson wasn't even signed.

in retrospect, their offense isn't great. but their defense is top tier. mike brown is probably the best safety in football who gets NO national publicity. He's a playmaker.

they still haven't played anyone, AND you can make the same argument for indianapolis. they haven't played anyone either except for a .500 team in NE.

we don't have a team here, which frankly i don't really care about. so i have no problem with the bears doing well. i like their team. but it doesn't change the fact that I didn't before the season started, and even now I don't see them winning two games in the playoffs. But yes, I am surprised at their 6-3 start. anything is an improvement and perhaps I'm jealous that my raiders still suck.
gl with the bears this season.

BDB,
Cheers and good luck to the Raiders. I understand completely what you are saying, and would tend to agree especially with Chad Hutchinson.

Moe,
Please read above post. Those are some pathetic teams now go check the teams that your final four picks have played and you will find that there are much more pathetic teams than the one the Bears played

your comparing these bears to the 85 bears is a joke.if these bears played a team like the 85 giants, rams ,49ers,or the 85 bears they would not cover a 20 pt spread.stats dont tell the whole story.05 bears are a pretender....but are headed in the right direction.they've got their qb ,verygood head coach, and solid def.this team will be contenders for awile in the very near future.

I agree. In my opinion the early 70's team of the Dolphins (when they went undefeated), the 85 bears and the 49ers and Cowboys early 90's (dynasty) teams were the best ever.

The '85 Bears were a GREAT football team. The current Chicago Bears are good and headed in the right direction but they need a little bit more offensively.

I'd have to put the '98 Broncos on that short list too. They were dominating ...undefeated through 13? Of course the idiot Vikings ruined what would have been an unbelievable Superbowl matchup by yet again choking in the playoffs.

Damn - my Pats bold prediction of no playoffs would be looking pretty good if they were in a different division. Still could happen.

Hey Moe, (and I'm not curly)
Who the hell compared the'05 Chicago Bears with the '85 Bears??? My statement was;

the Super Bowl shuffle is long gone and if one were to take notice..............this years defense is better in most categories than the 85 defense including total, points, yards.......yeah they suck.

saying "if one took notice" of some statistical categories on only one aspect of the entire team structure and the ability to compete in past history or presently against similarly talented opponents is hardly a comparison, by any measure.

You stated "stats don't tell the story" is absolutely true!

You have not made any statement steeped in fact yet,.You have merely stated opinion and called me a joke by reading (and I use the term loosely) some hidden meaning into my statement of fact....................however, I am in a good mood today and am willing to let this pass as long as you root for the Bears until further notice.

Please take your seat on the bandwagon in time for the big finish

i'm not impressed with the bears yet. their defense is amazing, but i want to see them play 2-3 hard teams in a row, then i'll be impressed.

Oops.......did I forget to tell Mjolnir to hug a root in my first post and then make reference to it in my second...........man I'm sorry.......my bad...................trust in who you want and be impressed with all the defenses you want...............but exactly what do you mean by "Hard"? Especially if you are going to have them line up in a row. Personally, the only thing I like lined up in a row and hard is art..................Do you know him..........Art?..............Lives off Main st................grey hair???????.....................OK...........No ............??........nevermind

seattle is the #1 seed right now, they could easily lose to any playoff team in the nfc, chit they should be in the afc anyway..i do miss the 80's and 90's.....if the bears do run the table they wont be as fortunate as the ravens were and play a team like the gmen in the superbowl
