Putin's comments came in an interview with Rossiya-1 TV channel journalist Pavel Zarubin. His remarks come two days after Trump threatened Russia with tariffs and sanctions if it did not reach an agreement to end the war in Ukraine. Trump on Thursday at the World Economic Forum urged Saudi Arabia and OPEC to bring down oil prices.

"All I can say is that we hear the current President say he is ready to work together. We remain open to that. Regarding talks about Ukraine, we have consistently made it clear, and I wish to underscore it one more time, we remain open to them," Putin said.

He also agreed with Trump's assertion that if he had been U.S. President back in 2022, then the Ukraine war would not have started.

So glad to have freed ourselves from the ineptitude of the Biden administration.

fantastic work by DJT thus far on the global peace front. Ukraine will cede land in exchange for lasting peace this year. Something myself, most American libertarians, conservatives and centrists, most Europeans and even most Ukrainians (52%) have called for since at least 2023. I am so thankful for this welcome change in policy. I’m still caught off guard how American liberals fell in line with the Biden admin’s Russia/ukraine policy and became pro war.

Also not surprising that the Middle East started to calm down the moment DJT won the election. I do give Biden administration credit for allowing DJT to apply his influence over Netanyahu to get this deal done. Yes, the hamas/Israel deal is imbalanced— 7 innocent hostages in exchange for hundreds of imprisoned criminals—, but peace and prosperity is what the DJT administration has preached, and im ok with taking a couple of lumps along the way.

Trump said the war in Ukraine would be over by now.

I'm just glad we are now in a meritocracy where people like Pete Hegseth can be in charge of the department of defense. He might have failed in his only two leadership roles, but he was a great weekend TV host.

I just can’t believe the quality of people who agreed to take these government positions. Nothing but the best for daddy..

Extremist liberals try to take everything Trump says literally even on a campaign trail. I find it comical.

The reality is that war is going to be over this year much to your chagrin. I know you enjoy that war, and the massive funding.
