Yeah and I thought Canelo looked better than what I thought he would. He lookeed big and tonight he's gonna go to 170 lbs, let's just hope that doesn't make him too slow.

Let's just say Canelo won't be doing any of this tonight :0065

Here's how I see it playing out....

Canelo :box2:

Mayweather:00x2 Canelo

fight night

fight night

Great chance to get on floyd cheaper than normal.

If this fight was in 2 years I would canelo a chance, but floyd will be crisp with his 2 nd fight this year.

Like him or not, floyd is one of the great fighters ever.

Floyd via decision.

i don't see how you can use the strategy alvarez did when you're about 3x slower than your opponent. he couldnt beat that guy in 100 years.

and then he's all talking about "experience." that is weak. there's a belt at stake. why fight unless you intend to take that? see this in fight after fight, they're just happy to last 12 rounds and collect their money. there's no real desire evident at any point. that's not mayweather's fault, he did his job. alvarez didnt really show much of anything at all other than he's slow as hell compared to mayweather. that he proved beyond doubt.

mayweather was clearly the superior fighter every step of the way, much quicker of hand and foot, and more aggressive in the majority of the rounds.

the judge who called this a draw should be banned for life. he is not qualified to judge boxing if he thinks that was a draw. i gave alvarez two rounds, and that was being extremely generous, as they were more like draws than anything. the rest, clearly to mayweather.

yeah, mayweather is hard to catch, but if you're not as fast as he is, you have no chance trying to play his game of dancing and darting punches. and his efficiency was markedly superior to alvarez. he just stands outside the guy and keeps darting in punches to the head. real punches, which hit the target. alvarez had some glancing blows off the shoulder or hip, but very very few that really connected with mayweather.

how about trying to trap mayweather and go all out to brawl him onto the canvas. i dont see any other strategy that can possibly work if he's that much quicker than his opponents.

but then if alvarez attempted that, he would get knocked out in 3-4 rounds, is my guess, and all the fans would be dsiappointed. well, i think it's more disappointing to do what alvarez did than risk a knockout by doing the one thing that might give you a chance. i really think alvarez knew that if he tried to up the stakes at any point, he would have ended up knocked out in pretty short order, so he opted for the equivalent of a gentleman's loss.

i dont know..just disappointed to see this kind of fight repeatedly - disappointed in the challenger.

if i'm 43-0-1, and have never lost, i'm gonig to go all out to get that belt and not blemish my record with a loss. it's better and more honorable to be knocked out trying to win than do what alvarez did tonight, in my opinion. but that seems how challengers prefer it these days.

he should have tried to duplicate jose luis castillo`s effort(which was basically what you just said)...push him to the ropes and use gloves,elbows,shoulders...whatever...you can`t give mayweather distance...

after seeing this woman`s scorecard in the bradley over pacquaio decision...and now this...if she told me the sun rises in the east and sets in the west,i`d have to see it for myself....

Floyd set the tone for this fight in the first 10 seconds. He went straight to Alvarez and hit him square on the chin. Alvarez tasted that power and wanted nothing to do with it. Its difficult to carry out any gameplan when you get hit 2-3 times while you're just thinking of throwing a punch. I don't want to disrespect anyones opinion, but it's very hard to make it an all out brawl when you know you will be the one getting knocked out. Alvarezs punches were so wide and looping he would have been hit 3 times before he could get it off. Mayweather doesn't have one punch knockout power but he does have speed and pin point precision and believe me those shots hurt! This fight was a complete mismatch. Floyd could have been 56 and still won this fight easily.
