VaNurse if a mom in this area walks into my office that I spent a year and a half and hundreds of thousands of dollars building, and there is a girl named whatever with a high school education or less speaking improper English, she's not going to step another foot further into my office. . Generalizations exist for a reason. I obviously want my practice to portray a certain image, a certain brand, a certain quality....and with certain people, whatever their ethnicity, you can't do that. So get off your high horse. It's my business and part of the reward of taking the risk in opening my own business is that I get to decide who I employ. If I wanted to be regulated by higher authorities and the moral police I'd go work for the govt.
You're ridiculous in calling me a bigot. Really just absurd. Yes, I am targeting my business at middle to upper class, educated (college education) households. I'm a specialist, as such I'm more expensive, and those households are the ones who will a) see the value in my education and what I can provide and b) can afford my services. I'm sorry if, in this area, that excludes a large portion of the african american community. That doesn't make me a freaking bigot. So, whether you like it or not, those middle or upper class North Carolinians are going to feel more natural staring at joe schmoe who looks, talks, and dresses like them than someone who is drastically different. Do you expect makers of diapers to market to college students? Do you think Morehouse College is out there recruiting in private boarding schools? That doesn't make them bigots, and your casual use of the word shows your complete ignorance on the conversation.
