Lots of times movies that suck win. Remember Dead Ringers? A horrible movie that won awards. U sound like the boys if u think winning awards constitutes a good movie or acting job.
True, Unforgiven won Best Picture and it was awful, but Mad Max was a great flick. The numerous Oscars it won were well deserved.
Yes it's true Mad Max did win 6 Oscars. Best Costume Design, Production Design, Makeup & Hair styling, Film Editing, and both Sound Mixing and Editing. The only exceptions were Best Cinematography. Yet none of the Oscars had anything to do with acting, directing or the story itself.

Take away Best Costume Design, Production Design, Makeup & Hair styling, Film Editing, and both Sound Mixing and Editing, and there's no need for actors because you don't have a movie.
Whens the last time you said to the wife........"Hey honey this movie just won awards for make up, costumes and hair styling lets go see it.?" NEVER would be the correct answer. I think what drives most people to see a movie would be the actors, story and maybe the director.
