I read that Eric Gagne will end up in the bullpen and might even have a shot at the closers job. So 5th slot in rotation is down to Daal and Perez.

My 2 cents

My 2 cents

As an avid Fantasy Baseball player I thought I'd offer some suggestions for the upcoming year....

Impact youngsters:

Juan Cruz (sp--Cubs)--He's already been mentioned in this thread and I agree with them all. The only downside I see from him is his stamina over a full season...He weighs only 160 lbs tops...good K's , Ratio, ERA, Wins probable

Carlos Hernandez (sp-Astros)---Has recovered from offseason shoulder surgery to claim the #5 spot in Astro's rotation. Good K's, ratio and Wins probable...ERA may get inflated due to Astro's Field (formerly Enron Field)

Joel Pinerjo (sp--Mariners)---Held opponents BA to close to .200 last year in short stint in the big leagues...Has nailed down a spot in the rotation and will get the wins on a great Seatlle team...

Mark Prior (sp--Cubs) This guy was sent to the minors but only to get some innings logged. He WILL be with the Cubs this year and a Cy young candidate in the future....

Sean Burroughs (3b--Padres)--Has been mentioned already in this thread and should be a contender for Rookie of the Year in the NL....

Hank Blaylock (3b--Texas)--Has been hitting light's out this Spring and will help an already potent Texas line-up...

Toby Hall (c--D Rays)--In a position that lacks many good players this youngster will be one of them...I feel he will have 12-15 HR's and 70 rbi with a decent average and a few token steals..for a catcher that's not too shabby

others...

Juan Uribe ss and Jose Ortiz 2b Rockies...Coors field will pad these two youngsters everday stats

Mike Rivera catcher--Det...should win the starting job and has been tearing the cover off the ball this spring...catcher is a tough position to find quality and I think he's a gem

Undervalued players:

Todd Zeile (3b/!B --Rockies) Coors field will help his totals in HR's and Rbi's...he won't hurt you in Average and qualifies at 2 positions to boot

Frank Catalanato (2b/3b/of--Texas) Cat batted over 330 last season and will benefit from hitting first in one of if not the most potent line-ups in the AL this year

Tony Batista(ss/3b) How many of you realized this guy qualifies at ss??? Look for 25-30 Hr's and 85+ rbi with alot of K's and a low average...His qualifing at ss makes a huge difference

Dimitri Young (1b/3b/0f--Tigers) He has hit 300 in the past 3 years and Detroit's home park should offer plenty of doubles for him as well...Look for a change of scenery to help him

others without write-ups...Richie Sexon (breakout year), Sean Casey (bouncback year), Aaron Boone...if he could only stay healthy, hits in a great line-up, Scott Stricklan....Who??? Just take him and thank me later...

getting a little tired...more later or tomorrow

If anyone has any questions that they want an opinion on, feel free to e-mail me...

Sean Burroughs gets the hype and will be a better player in the long run but for this year Ensburg (3B) on Houston will have the better offensive year and will be more of a "sleeper".
