STINCHCOMB PLANS TO PLAY: Standout Georgia offensive tackle Jon Stinchcomb continues to be hobbled by a sprained knee, but said Wednesday he's expecting to play in Saturday night's game after missing last week's win over Kentucky.
"My knee is doing well," he said. "I pretty much live in the training room these days. I'm just trying to do everything I can to play Saturday. I feel pretty confident."
Two other offensive standouts who missed the UK game also are expected to play.
Tailback Musa Smith (thumb) has been practicing at full speed this week and will start Saturday night's game and play with a soft cast on his hand. Wide receiver Fred Gibson (thumb) also has a small cast on his hand and is expected to see some playing time against the Gators after seeing limited practice time this week.
"It's going to hurt regardless," Gibson said. "I've got to take the pain. I'm going to have to catch the ball with my body."
Not all the injury news is good for the 'Dogs. Starting outside linebacker Chris Clemons is very doubtful after severely spraining his knee in the Kentucky game. He's been on crutches all week.
If Clemons can't go, freshman Tony Taylor likely will start.
Said Georgia defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder: "(Not having Clemons) is kind of my approach right now. Even if he's able to play, it would be in a very limited role. Tony's very smart for a true freshman. I think he has a good understanding of our system and he's getting a little more physical on the field. I've got a lot of confidence in Tony."
