Rumsfield, Chaney, and Wolfowitz decided Bush's course in 1997.

I've heard enough of this Democratic propaganda about Cheney and Rummy conspiring this war in 1997. That is what I call perverting the truth. Yes, they were part of a coalition to encourage congress/senate and White House to hold Sadamm to the sanction of the UN.....that is a far cry from planning a war in 2003...another pathetic embellisment by the left.

Wilson read it close. It's not saying it as you want. Lets say Mc Cain got elected. Well if he did not have this bunch with him there may not have been a war. Had he had a couple of them in his staff you never know. But there planing at a time when not really asked to do so should tell us something.

Fat,

The only point that I'm making is that SOMEBODY made a killing speculating that the shit was going to hit the fan on 9-11.
Between Sept 6 and 7 the Chicago Board Options Exchange saw purchases of 4744 put options on United Airlines and only 396 call options. On Sept 10th...4516 put options on American AIrlines were bought on the Chicago Exchange compaired to only 748 call options....with no news to justify the imbalance. The level of put options were SIX TIMES more than normal, and..NO SIMILAR TRADING IN OTHER AIRLINES OCCURED IN THE CHICAGO EXCHANGE IN THE DAYS IMMEDIATELY PROCEEDING 9-11.
Now I'm in no position to know if these figures are accurate or not. but if they are, obviously somebody knew what was going down. I'd just like to know who would make that kind of play on those two particular airline stocks. I do know that there was an article a few days after 9-11 on similar types of speculation on insurance stocks in the Euro market. The Euro regulators asked the US to investigate because of the unusual speculation at that time.

It's interesting to hear the Rush Limbaugh clones drone on here at MJ's. Now, don't get me wrong I used to enjoy listening to Rush (pre-pill popping era) but I am not a conservative...though I am on the right.

There's money to be made in rebuilding Iraq and we have a strategic foothold in the Middle East. TS mentioned the pretext that was laid out for the Iraqi invasion and tailor-made for the American public's consumption.

I have a bad feeling about the "new" Iraq.

TonyTT It went away because no one said much about it but for afew days. It had those nuts cases from Europe that brought it up. And the only press Americans seem to believe is our own. If you watch int'l news, or read some print from around the world. The pitcure one gets painted here is much differant. As for those puts on A/A airlines. That was a record for them. But no one and I maybe one buys much into someone knowing about 9/11. But it dam sure was more then strange.
hm23 I share your concerns on the new Iraq. The Brits and French with us somewhat involved. Carved up that part of the world 60/65 years ago. It's been a stink hole waiting to go bad.
No one there likes demacracy. But here we come and were going to make one. Well I have no idea how many dead Iraqis and Americans that will take. But it won't be worth it. The cost that we the American people have to take on is nuts. It's neat to say here you are take over June 30th. But of course those who think that means we leave and come home are so very wrong. That date is not majic.

It is all on the net

It is all on the net

Broadcast on Friday, April 4, 2003 by the The Portual News (Portugal's Weekend Newspaper in English)
US Arms Group Heads for Lisbon

Directors of one of the world?s largest armament companies are planning on meeting in Lisbon in three weeks time. The American based Carlyle Group is heavily involved in supplying arms to the Coalition forces fighting in the Iraqi war.

It also holds a majority of shares in the Seven Up company and Federal Data Corporation, supplier of air traffic control surveillance systems to the US Federal Aviation Authority. The 12 billion dollar company has recently signed contracts with United Defense Industries to equip the Turkish and Saudi Arabian armies with aviation Defense systems.

Top of the meeting?s agenda is expected to be the company?s involvement in the rebuilding of Baghdad?s infrastructure after the cessation of current hostilities. Along with several other US companies, the Carlyle Group is expected to be awarded a billion dollar contract by the US Government to help in the redevelopment of airfields and urban areas destroyed by Coalition aerial bombardments.

The Group is managed by a team of former US Government personnel including its president Frank Carlucci, former deputy director of the CIA before becoming Defense Secretary. His deputy is James Baker II, who was Secretary of State under George Bush senior. Several high profile former politicians are employed to represent the company overseas, among them John Major, former British Prime Minister, along with George Bush senior, one time CIA director before becoming US President.

The financial assets of the Saudi Binladen Corporation (SBC) are also managed by the Carlyle Group. The SBC is headed up by members of Osama bin Laden?s family, who played a principle role in helping George W. Bush win petroleum concessions from Bahrain when he was head of the Texan oil company, Harken Energy Corporation - a deal that was to make the Bush family millions of dollars. Salem, Osama bin Laden?s brother, was represented on Harken?s board of directors by his American agent, James R. Bath.

The connection between the Bush and bin Laden families can also be traced to the collapse of the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) in the 1990s. Members of the Anglo Pakistani bank?s board of directors included Richard Helms and William Casey, business partners of George Bush senior and former CIA agents. During their time at BCCI both Helms and Casey worked alongside fellow director, Adnan Khasshoggi, who also represented the bin Laden family?s interests in the US.

The Portugal News has been told by a reliable source that the Carlyle Group meeting in Lisbon will discuss the relationship between the Saudi Binladen Corporation (SBC) and Osama bin Laden. Many US officials claim that the SBC continues to finance his political activities, and has done so for many years. If true, this would place George Bush senior and his colleagues at the Carlyle Group in an embarrassing position. As managers of SBC?s financial investments they might well be accused of indirectly aiding and abetting the United States? number one enemy.

So.. If King George 1 ran Carlisle.. Pre 9/11 and The Government gave him a billion dollar deal to rebuid Iraq...

And Dick Cheney while running Haliburton signed illegal deals with Saddam.. And then After he "left" to become the VP, haliburton got all of the Military contracts in Iraq....

Is That a Conflict of Interest for this administration?

You wont get one right winger in here to say any of this happened or is true. They wil tell you it's all Clintons fault. It's there way out every time presented with facts they dont like. Of course these items look bad. But so many will say they just didn't now they were so connected. Then they will say if they had knowen they would have dropped out. But they really don't dropped out. They send someone to represent them. Some of this is about when is enough money enough. Bush Family must thing they still need more. Maybe they want to rule the world. Well I guess that is not funny. We want to be a leader. Our problem is no one wants to follow.

So Cal
While I use the web constantly, it is no more reliable than Newsmax or any other source with a bias built in. Just because it is on the web doesn't make it true and you must also research the source to determine the chance of accuracy. However, this stuff about the Carlisle group has been swarming around for more than 10 years that I know of. My guess is that there is some truth to it, but I don't buy it hook, line or sinker.

It is indisputable that the PNAC lobbied Clinton and several senators for War with Iraq in 1998.

It is indisputable that the Pnac members included Paul Wolfowitz, DicK Cheney, Don Rumsfeld and the others I detailed above.

It is Indisputable that these men all wound up in W's cabinet.

Either George W Bush lied to the American Public and brought us to war on false pretenses or he is an absolute dumbass.

I Wish the Democratic party would spend as much money investigating this as the republicans did investigating Bubba getting his helmet polished by Monica.
