A good days punting :D 4/6 (+ managed to lay back the Monty/Langer tie to break even on that one) + the 1st day lead bet at 9/5 came in - time to crack open a bottle :drinky: and cheer on Loren :D

Ditto..... (Except the Loren part, come on Elkington you can show these doubters)

I'm not a fan of the Ryder Cup (it brings out the yob in people) but betfair helped make it a most entertaining afternoon. It's great to see the P/L of all 3 possible outcomes of a match in green. Achieved a small profit in each afternoon match but it was heavier on the fun than the profit :D

Was at work during the morning so know nothing of how those matches panned out... but I did wonder earlier in the week about a strategy of laying say 500 points at 1.2 as soon as any match reached that price... in the belief that there would be more than one turn round in every 5.... this afternoon there were 2 Clarke/Bjorn & Monty/Langer.... would have been a nice 800 point profit.

Any other strategies?

Did hear a very interesting point on the radio - in the Foursomes players with similar games play well together - no point in playing an inaccurate player with an accurate one as they will be playing shots into the green from unusual places, also there was a comment that Tiger was worried about what ball they played with - well today he and Calc played with a Nike and he still played very poorly!

Verplank/Sutton was a great pairing. I didn't give them much of a chance at the start but they played their steady games and got the rewards. I just hope Torrance doesn't totally drain some of our players by Sunday like we normally do.

Putt your ass off...

Putt your ass off...

I have been watching these matches - admitedly time delayed and on tape - but those EUROS are putting their ASSES off. I am having a hard time believing what I am seeing....

Especially Langer and Westwood...

Ties...

Ties...

Suck..0-4:( on Friday...in Foursomes...

Souded good at the time...

May try again Sat....

Love the way Westwod. Fasth, and Langer are Playing for Europe!

Verplank + Toms are doing well for US. Tiger - forget it ... he just does not seem to be able to get it going in either two-man format...

Why not add 2 seniors [over 60] players to each side, and make it a 16 point format ??? Can you imagine some of the intererst in Nicklaus and Palmer etc...

Its a bitch we get delayed tape here I.P. I go home from office early to watch matches as 2nd rd starts and they are showing morning rds %$#@%$

Will have to back out of my opinion of fading Mick in alternate shot as Torrence has appeared to not think he is beatable and throw 2 rookies at he and Toms. Will do a small parlay on the other 3 Euros teams in alternate shot in am. Am hoping for Euros to build about 2.5 point lead by days end and fire on US at bettable in running odds to recover in singles the next day.

Tiger & Love 10/11

Unofficially as will not include in yearly stats.

If Monty "did" have back probs they should take their toll bout now!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Sheez these 4 rank 1st ,2nd ,8th and 32nd in birdie ave--and best ball:eek: What am I missing:shrug:

Ya know there is one thing you can't put a pencil to in this event and that is pride and heart and I don't know of any that has more than Monty playing his 4th match in 2 days, almost 40,bad back and scoring more winning holes in match than either mick or Toms. My hats off to him.

A compelling days viewing - absolutely marvellous - even the other half loved it.

On a betting front managed to get out this afternoon - if Europe win I win, if its a draw I win if the US win I break even - can't say fairer than that.

Can't wait til tomorrow :D

Missed Friday a.m. but enjoyed 3 profitable sessions since with the best this afternoon. I have not placed any bets on the overall outcome but I can't fancy Europe if as expected the weather stays good. Some British Open weather is needed....

Sam must be worried - Europe have brought in Nick Price for the singles -

PGATOUR draw

But seriously - Monty/Mickelson looks like a sound top scorer double at 2.09 x 2.62 at bet365

Woods v Parnevik
Langer v Sutton
Bjorn v Cink
for a nice treble with

Fasth v Azinger and Fulke v Love a good outsider double

Thanks to Westwood for at last doing the decent thing in his Saturday Fourball. Woods/Love was a banker at 10/11

I am the only person who thinks this top points betting is all a bit dodgy?

At the start you are guessing how many matches you get for your cash... then whether your man will be paired with a doylem... if the captain had a word in your ear it would help.

Then when it comes to the last day will the games be played out properly? Mickelson in the penultimate pair could be involved in a friendly tie/walk off job if the cup is decided. Tom's match is the 2nd pairing so should be played out to a proper conclusion.

Strange looking draw for the singles - Sam seems to have pulld a bit of a surprise by putting his strongest players first - whereas Curtis has put his 2 strongest out last where they will meet 2 players who could be beaten by any of the US team - has Sam pulled a masterstroke? - or have I been drinking too much?

Maybe torrance has had a lil bit too much ale. on paper it looks as if he has given the cup away. i only see 2 or maybe 3 that favor the euro's early

colin, langer and maybe garcia think toms can give him all he can handle. but the last 6 matchs all look like they favor americans very heavily. verplank the only ? mark. looks like the cup is coming back home to me.

gonna play these early think most will rise.

monty -130
langer -150

5 units each

azinger -110

10 units

gl to all

This is the 1st time in a while the Yanks aren't gunna be chasing us home Sunday. They have always been strong Sunday but I feel Europe still comes through tomorrow.

Like a lot of these singles:

Clarke to beat Duval 5/4 @ Bet365 2 Units.
Monty to beat Hoch 5/6 @ Hills 2 Units.
Langer to beat Sutton 8/11 @ Bet365 2 Units.
Harrington to beat Calc 1/1 @ Spodds 2 Units.
Garcia to beat Toms 1/1 @ Spodds 2 Units.
Westwood to beat Verplank 23/20 @ Hills 2 Units.
Bjorn to beat Cink 1/1 @ Hills 2 Units.
Fasth to beat Azinger 11/10 @ VC 2 Units.

Lets bring the Cup home boys ;).
----------------------

DTB, gotta agree with u on Monty. This man has been awesome all week. He's gunna make a great captain some day.
