One other quick thing. I used to not like Sergio for his antics. Now I kind of root for him. At the PGA at Hazeltine we were right next to him and he was funny and fun....even when he was in jail in the middle of the trees. Sent a ball under the first tree, up over the second tree, over the scoreboard with a fade to the middle of the green. A great shot. He stayed at a house at my bosses neighborhood and went out and played soccer with the kids.

This year at the practice rounds he was just great to the kids out on the course which is how I judge the players. David Duval was a prick to the kids. A friend was out there for the practice round with about 5 kids and he said Garcia was the nicest to all the kids. The Euro in general would come and sign for the kids and were great. The americans not so much. Surprisingly he said Fowler wouldnt sign for the kids. After the practice round he said I almost feel like rooting for the Euros.

If the news report is correct a fan was yelling "Suck a D...k" at Roy several times before being ejected.
Guess DuffDiver got a ticket to see the matches.

The Euro's are coached to by as nice as they can and sign as many autographs as they can to the American crowds. The thought is by gaining their friendship, they won't be so likely to be abusive towards them. The guys on the Golf Channel talked about them being coached up to do this during each Ryder Cup. Now maybe it stays with them. But that's also the way Arnie treated all his fans.

I still think Rory and Sergio do just as much to incite the ire of the fans as the fans do at giving it to them. They are constantly fist pumping and yelling during their matches. More than any American except for Reed. So they get it back inn return. Rory got the biggest cheers of any player during opening ceremonies. So the fans showed they love him. For them to turn on him, he must be doing something to piss them off. From an optics standpoint, his antics to me are way over the top. He's a professional. Act like you've been there before. Let your golf quiet the crowds and quit whining about the fans.....
