Your noodle must be spinning like a top! Yikes!!!!
I'll see if I can understand this. You know, since I ain't got your smarts.
The rest of the country's tax dollars are used, because we all benefit from New Orleans, as a whole? Even though it seems like it's far away, and doesn't directly affect us?
Think of Covid as the hurricane, and masks and vaccines as the tax dollars to help you get back on your feet. The longer people refuse to pay their taxes, the longer it will take to build back up. For you to think that only the immunocompromised need to "pitch in", is as asinine and selfish as someone saying, "New Orleans' hurricane isn't my problem".
And when you cry about this year's jazz festival, and sporting events being canceled, don't blame the mental midget in Wisconsin who did his part to make sure you COULD have them.
boy you're fucking dumb
and don't hurt your shoulder patting yourself on the back for getting the vaccine - we all know as well as you do that you got the vaccine bc you were scared of covid, not for the greater good of the world
there's nothing wrong with being scared of covid for many people who are up there in age or have underlying conditions or based on their level of risk tolerance - but funny to see those who have convinced themselves that they got the jab bc they are some sort of 'team player' and not bc they were simply trying to protect themselves from the virus
if common sense tactics would have been used from the start of the pandemic we would be over all of this by now - we could have simply protected the elderly and those most likely to be be at risk and let the virus run through the rest of the population who by and large weren't going to be negatively affected in a severe manner - then immunity would have been built up among the healthy and the rest of the population could have simply waited for a vaccine - but instead we ran around like fucking chickens with our heads cut off with lockdowns and restrictions and now here we are 18 months later still having these stupid conversations
numbers everywhere are about to head steeply downhill bc the virus is running through ppl and a higher level of natural immunity is being built up - case numbers were down 14% in Louisiana last week, but doubt we'll hear about that from the media as it doesn't fit the doom and gloom narrative
crazy to me that some of you, especially yyz, think you are so "cerebral" but you can't see that this isn't about covid or a vaccine or anything like that - this is about governmental overreach and it negatively affects all of us no matter what party you're affiliated with or how you feel about the virus or the vaccine - no reason to go to far into that though bc if you're not "cerebral" enough to understand that by now the likelihood is that you'll never get it
As for the Saints, they have created a PR disaster - in 24 hours they went from not offering refunds to offering refunds but mandating that people who opt out cancel their ticket rights permanently while also stating that they were going to keep (i.e. steal) the $$ for the preseason games of those who opted out/cancelled - the shills in the local media wrote that the number of people wishing to cancel was extremely low, but on Friday morning at 8AM there were 28 people in line when I called the ticket office to cancel my season ticket account that had been in place for a very long time - when the girl who I spoke with on Friday morning told me that she was sorry as her system was running slow as she processed my request, I told her "that's ok I'm sure you all are very busy this morning" - she chuckled and told me "you're definitely not wrong about that" - later at about 3:00pm I called back to see how many people were in line on hold, but either the phone systems exploded due to the volume of calls or the Saints simply took the phones off the hook bc the lines rang busy the rest of the day - out of curiosity I called back this morning to see if I could get through but still nothing but a busy signal
I assume they are trying to do what they can to keep as many people from being able to cancel by tomorrow's deadline as possible - they pulled similar moves last year when they attempted to keep all STH's $$ and roll it through to this year by not publicly stating that they were offering an opt out option - I know a LOT of people who have cancelled and some of those people have accounts that have 2 or more individual tickets attached - my friend had 3 seats in the club section on the 50 yard line plus a parking pass that went for a combined $11k - sure many have cancelled suites and I bet that if an account holder cancels a 24 person suite the Saints will manipulate the numbers to show just one account cancelled, just as the covid numbers have been heavily manipulated for a year and a half
At least the Raiders offered a true opt out option where STH's could simply roll their $$ into next season - the Saints were the only franchise to try this bullshit and they overplayed their hand in a severely reckless manner - despite whatever lies the Saints front office tries to put out in the media the truth is that a ton of cancellations have occurred and a ton more are on the way unless the organization is successful in blocking those requests with slimy moves like not allowing ppl to get through on the phone - if you are confident that not many ppl will cancel, and if you have so many ppl waiting in the wings to scoop up those tickets as the Saints have claimed, then why not send out an email with the requisite information and a form to opt out? Again, the answer is that they thought that by being scumbags and not refunding the preseason $$ and by forcing STH's to cancel their accounts that cancellations would be minimal - unfortunately we will never get a true account of what happens re the number of opt outs as I doubt there will be any local reporters brave enough to try to access that information - but I am hearing some staggering numbers coming from reports from within the ticket office and if those numbers are anywhere close to accurate then the Saints condescending attitude about this situation will end up costing the organization a ridiculous amount of $$***
***as I'm writing this I just got a message from a friend - he has a contact who the Saints had called a little while ago about purchasing one of the Superdome's new ground level suites for $60k - they called him back last week and offered one to him for $15k - think that's the only suite available?
I truly feel for CoverEverything and all others in the healthcare industry as I know this has been a tough road for all of you - also feel for all of those that have been affected in a negative manner by the virus - don't like being called a fucking moron for having a different opinion than others but I'm a big boy and I can handle that so hoping it makes ppl feel better when they lash out - I exercise daily, get outside a lot, take vitamins and try my best (outside of drinking a little bit too much) to lead a healthy lifestyle, so I'm confident that my immune system is in a good spot - my 5 year old son had covid in December and he was in my and my family's face for 2 weeks straight in December and I find it highly unlikely that I didn't contract covid then or at some other point(s) over the last 18 months as I have been extremely active and have done everything that the govt has allowed me to do and then some - so while my wife who is slightly less active than I am is vaccinated I have no interest in taking a vaccine that may cause harmful side effects
Immunity is building and the worst of all of this will be over soon - but that won't stop the government from doing their best to mandate vaccines and restrict the rights of those who don't want to get it - unbelievable to me that anyone would think that was ok and tells a sad story of where we are as a society - I'm just glad school, playground sports and the college football season are all here so I can concentrate on making $$ for myself and my clients while enjoying life with my family instead of arguing with closed minded ppl
