Good luck. I ended up taking OSU +3. I'm hoping whichever team wins does so by more than 2 points. If one of them wins by 1 then I lose both bets. :scared Kidding. I don't have much on either side so no biggie either way.

And I'm a bit of a goofball, I know, but I like the fact that OSU hasn't won a road game since the Nixon Administration. Have to believe they're hungry and can see the prize at the end of the finish line now. I guess I've always been a bit of a contrarian that way.

I do agree with how you analysed that first half.....OSU looked very determined as they're probably very tired of hearing about their road woes....its whats keeping them from being a legit tourney team.

What do you feel about Purdue -4 in the 2nd half.....they were -3 for the game, but down 8 at the half......I hate chasing on the same team, but I really dont see Illinois winning this game going away at all....they are terrible from the line, for example...any thoughts.

Well ISU is now up so I'm not sure you want to take 2h advice from me! :142smilie

In all seriousness though, I haven't watched the Purdue game at all. I'm a bit surprised by the score though. I almost played them -4 for the game. On principle alone, I would lean to Purdue -4 for the 2h. You have to think they will make a run and keep it close. I can't see Illinois blowing it wide open. Like I said though, I haven't been watching the game at all so that's just conjecture. GL.

I bit on that Purdue second half line.

Illini are playing their best offensive game in a long time, and I dont think that will keep up.

Glenn.....i have OkSt-ISU on one set, Purdue on the other, so I got my eye on both games i have action on.

I'll put either OSU-Tenn or Mary-UNC on the third set once it starts. Unfortuneatly, only one set is set up for the Full Court, so I have to channel surf that one a lot.

And, you think you are of a goofball!! :142smilie

Very surprised how good Wesley Johnson is for Iowa St. It's the 1st time i've seen him play this year. Appears to be a good NBA player in a couple years.

Holy crap! Wait... are you sure you have a girlfriend?! :mj07: Kidding. Man, I think I would go cross-eyed if I tried to follow 3 games at once!

ISU looks really good in the 2h. I probably should have just stuck with the -2 bet for the game. I was worried that they would be flat for the whole game, but this looks like yet another case of the home team turning it on in the 2h.

Yeah, she laughs at me all the time....but then one of her first questions this morning was 'who are ya betting on?" She's a fellow IU alum and she krinkled her nose in disgust when I told her I liked Purdue.....how's that song go.....Women Are Smarter Most Everyday.

I'm off the hook today because we took a run this morning and then I helped her clean out horse stalls--shes a horse owner--and she's got a girls night out tonight, so today was going to all about CBB.

Nice. My girlfriend is pretty tolerant too. She thinks I'm a geek, but she tolerates it. How long ago did you go to IU?

In other news, I'm really kicking myself for hedging that ISU bet. I should have known ISU would come back in that one. The sad thing is, if OSU doesn't hit that 3 at the end of the half I probably don't hedge. Oops...

Class of 1994....the Cheaney/Damon Bailey years.....the last real great era of bob knight's tenure.....this year is the first time they've been a legit top-10 since then......loved it down there, it was a blast.

Long way to go in the Okie-ISU game......hopefully ISU can do some damage at the free throw line down the stretch.

I remember that team well. Calbert and Damon. Whatever happened to Babyface Bailey? I really used to love watching Alford play cuz he was a white boy who shot a lot of 3's like myself. :142smilie

The ISU and Purdue 2h's are convincing me even more that, when a home team has a really bad 1st half and is somewhere in the neighborhood of being 10 points off the spread, they may be a good play in the 2h. I'm guessing those plays would come in more often than not. Teams seem to play a lot more inspired ball at home.

Still a boatload of time left, but Purdue is playing much better ball. My top two plays of the afternoon were the Boilers -3 and Cornell -8, and both were in big holes early. Not a fun way to start the afternoon, but it's good to see them both rallying.

I'd have to do a google search on bailey, but I thought I heard he was back coaching and teaching at his high school, Bedford North, in southern Indiana.

Thats pretty much what I look for in a second half, plus that intangible gut feeling that said home team will make a run at it.

ISU is gagging though....Okie State, down 3 with the ball now....Cyclones missed front end of 2 1 and 1's!!!

They look like a whole different team here in the second half.....i really do feel this squad is an up and comer this year in the Big 10.

Plus, we are getting that Illini scoring drought we all expected.....35 points in the first half.....only 12 in 12 minutes of the second half.

Here's hoping the Boilers keep it up!!! :toast:

They really stepped it up in this second half.

:00hour :00hour :00hour

Nothing like a Badger and a Hoosier celebrating a Boiler win.....gambling always makes strange bedfellows!!!

So, How do you factor the Big 10.......road goes through Mad-Town as I see it with IU and MSU going to the Kohl Center without a return match at home.

Next Saturday Wisco at PU then 1/31 IU at Wisco will go a long way in determining the pecking order.

Purdue now 4-1....we'll see if they can win on the road in February, though.....but I think they're going to be in the race the whole way if they can win at PSU and at home vs Wisco in the next week.

The team that can win on the road will win it. I feel the top three are considerably ahead of the rest. We get a hell of a break not having to go to MSU this year, but still have to get the job done in games on the road at Purdue, Minnesota and Illinois. My guess would be that the UW-IU-MSU trio will be won by the home team in each game, which obviously benefits us with the no-game-at-MSU. I feel it's a 3-team race for the title, but the title will likely be decided by one of the middle rung teams and who steps up on the right night.

Upsets brewing!!!!

Maryland is in complete control right now.....it took every club in the bag for UNC to pull out wins over Clemmie and GT recently....maybe they've finally run into something they cant overcome.....Hansborough has been a non factor.

How in the world is OSU beating Tenn right now.....looking at the Stats at half, this should be a blow out......Admittedly, I have not seen the opening segment of this half too closely, but I see they've opened up a five point lead.

Ok, I'll say it.....todays game in Knoxville must not be a bowl game. :SIB

Obviously this would be a huge win for the Terps if they can get it.....they are only 11-7 right now and not looking at all like a tourney team.....but, if this is how they're going to play the rest of the way, look out.

USC beating UCLA also right now.

Should be a very interesting next hour or so of hoops!
