Kick, I'm really NOT sure. The "next generation" of US players just hasn't materialized. How many above-avg players do we have? Maybe 3. Dempsey, Howard, Bradley.

As I've referenced above, if Concacaf was 2 or 2.5 qualifiers, I think US would be in trouble. At 3.5, yes, we SHOULD make it. But it's not 100%. We bleed pts at all these road games.

Honduras/Jamaica are pretty legitimate. Canada improved. USa to get to Brazil maybe 88%, not 100%.

If Canada can get a tie then it will be a huuuuuuge point! But it ain't going to be easy! Game could get ugly (game in Toronto was "chippy") and I am sure there will be plenty of security on hand! Well I hope so anyway:scared

Canada falls 2-0 to Panama in Panama

Canada now needs to beat Cuba and draw with Honduras (in Honduras) to qualify to next round. Not likely:sadwave:

Well it all comes down to this...........

Canada versus Honduras (in Honduras) at 4pm EST.


Canada needs to pull off a miracle tie or win to advance. Unlikely but it is possible.

Canada has not made the final round of qualifying in the region since 1997. So now is as good a time as any. Of course Canada is without their best player Dwayne De Rosario so the task will be that much more difficult.

The entire stadium is surrounded by barbed wire (by the field) and Canada team is under 24 hour security with armed guards with machine guns. Canada team bus was pelted by some rocks and hotel they are staying at is on lockdown. There are loudspeakers blaring music to keep the Canadian team awake and roughly 200 Hondurans banging drums over and over again. Also setting off fireworks at night!

The coaching staff brought their own food with em because last time they were there some Canadian players "got mysteriously sick" when they ate at the hotel.

Canada gets destroyed in Honduras, Canada does not advance to final round

Canada tied Hondras at home 0-0. They should have won that game, if they won that game the game
today (Oct 16) would have meant nothing. Canada would have advanced to the final round of qualies.

Gotta win at home, and they didn't. Because of that Canada gets thrashed in Honduras:SIB

USA looked bad....but they got the job done. If USA doesn't qualify it would be pathetic. But as I said earlier I'd be shocked if they did not get in.
