FRIDAY, JANUARY 4
RECOMMENDED
*TORONTO over DETROIT by 9

The Pistons have been rolling, but have had a rough schedule of late and are playing a Raptors team that has been off since playing Monday night in New Orleans. That?s a long time to heal your wounds and gameplan for your next opponent. Sure, T.J. Ford?s spine may never truly heal, but Sam Mitchell is a good enough coach to get his Raptors ready for tonight.

BOSTON over *DETROIT by 9

It?s revenge time for the Celtics, who come to Detroit looking to exact some retribution against the team that gave them their third loss. It?s a loss that?s stuck with them, as the Celts went on a winning spree afterwards and that trend will continue today. Poor freethrow shooting and an 0-4 night on three-pointers by Paul Pierce hurt them in the 87-85
home loss, when the winning points were delivered on a pair of free throws by Chauncey Billups with one-tenth of a second remaining after being fouled by the Celtics? Tony Allen. "It's a good lesson for our guys," Boston coach Doc Rivers said afterwards. "In shootaround I had to get on them today about paying attention. One of the things we kept saying is
'Chauncey Billups pump fakes.?"

I will have the AR Superpick around 1 or 130 when I get home. It was not up as of 8am this morning.

Personally, I nailed Marquette which I posted yesterday. I have 2 more BIG games today of which I am playing. I post on another forum my personal plays so I will just attach my writeups. I am a local of the NYC area. I am a gigantic Knicks fan but follow the 2 local teams very very closely since I get to watch them almost nightly and I read the Daily News and NY Post everyday. Does this mean I win them all? Probably not, but I do have a good handle on the teams, so good luck if you roll with me.

NJ Nets -6.5 vs Charlotte - Talk about a team with new instilled confidence. They just won on the road at Milwaukee and Orlando. Very tough comeback road win. Lots of talk in the local tabloids about the toughness of this team, Kidd took it personally and has responded by rallying the team. This should be a gigantic blowout.

Spurs -12.5 vs NY Knicks - This was close to a 7 Grimsley play, a play of which I only had 1 ever (back on CBS Sportlsline board 3 years ago, I had the over in Chicago/Indiana and it came in by about 30 points). I will be honest, there will be another 7 Grimsley play coming soon and it will be AGAINST the Knicks. I will be playing BIG against the Knicks until either A) They fire Isiah B) The end of the season. He ripped into the team again last night taking NO accountability. The players shrugged and said screw him. They have stopped playing for him. I went big on Sacramento the other night knowing full well they were missing half their team and they won that game EASILY. They won by 10 but were up by almost 30 with 6 minutes to play before calling off the dogs. Marbury is still rusty from his layoff. Meanwhile, the Spurs are 16-2 at home this year. The favorite is 7-1 in this series meaning the Knicks are 2-8 ATS vs the Spurs last 10. Knicks lead the league in double digit losses (15) and 2nd is not even close, even Minnesota is doing better in that category. SPURS BIG!

I tend to check out lines when they come in and make my own decisions. I have been playing the AR Superpick. I had never heard of the guy before it was asked about in here but since I am able to get it, I play it. It did win 10 in a row. After he lost 3 in a row, I stopped playing it until it won again, than I played it again. His regular plays I think are coin flips.

Feringo seems to be pretty darn good at CBB. I played his 2 big ones last night and they both won. NAU tried their hardest to give the game away, but they covered and UCONN pulled away easily in the 2nd half from SH.

If Spreitzer has a 25* play in just about any sport, I play it. He seems to be good with those, though he lost BIG last night with Illinois St who was laying 4.5 and lost by a ton.

Billy Coleman 5* plays are a good play no matter what the sport. Guy seems to know his stuff.

If ASA has a 7* I will play it no matter what the sport. Those guys are good at big plays, same with LT Profits 3* plays.

I tend to fade California Sports 4* plays and under. Their 5* play is pretty good, but other than that, garbage and good fading material.

Again, most of the time, I just tend to play my own games. I don't force the issue and play 100 games a night. I take into account all the cappers posted on this board, their opinions. I look at line swings and public %'s. Just last night, Vandy/Rice was about to tip off. The line went from -25/O 148 to -23.5 O 146 in about 3 seconds on my sportsbook. I took Rice and the Under. Didn't particularly care for it, but obviously it came in.

Again though, if I had to choose services, the above ones are the ones I will play especially if I had no opinion at all on a game they are on rather large.

Black Magic Sports Picks

Black Magic Sports Picks

NBA:

5 Unit Black Magic NBA Letdown GOTM on Minnesota +6.5

The Minnesota Timberwolves catch the Denver Nuggets in a great spot Friday night. Denver is fresh off their huge win over the San Antonio Spurs last night at home. Now you can count on the Nuggets coming into this game very sluggish. The Timberwolves will stomp the Nuggets early and hold on in the second half. Minnesota is 2-0 ATS against the Nuggets already this season from their two earlier meetings in November. The home team is 17-8 ATS in the last 25 meetings in this series. Denver is 7-20 ATS after 2 or more consecutive unders over the last 2 seasons. Denver is 31-55 ATS after 2 or more consecutive unders over the last 2 seasons. The Nuggets are giving up 108 points a game on the road this season so Minnesota will be putting up one of their best offensive outputs of the year Friday. Cash in with Minnesota as the underdog.

3 Unit Sharp Play on Detroit Pistons -4

The Pistons have been a big money-maker lately for NBA bettors and we will ride them Friday over the Raptors. Toronto is without their floor general in T.J. Ford at the point-guard position and they aren?t nearly as efficient without this stud. Detroit has won 10 straight games going 10-0 ATS in the process. The Pistons are 8-0-1 ATS in their last 9 road games. This is the most complete team in the league. Detroit poses mismatches every night they hit the floor. All 5 starters are more than capable of scoring in double figures as each starter did in their last game in a 106-93 win at Washington. Cash in with Detroit as the favorite Friday.

3 Unit Sharp Play on Orlando Magic -4

The Magic are the surprise team in the league this season with their 22-12 mark to this point. It shouldn?t be a surprise with the talent they put on the floor on a nightly basis. Hedo Turkoglu, Rashard Lewis and Dwight Howard are a force to be reckoned with in the East. The Houston Rockets have a losing record on the year and playing this game without their star in Tracy McGrady won?t help matters for Houston tonight. Orlando is 11-2 ATS after having won 2 of their last 3 games this season. Houston is 5-15 ATS after covering 3 of their last 4 against the spread over the last 2 seasons. Orlando is 23-11 ATS in all games this season. Cash in with Orlando as the favorite.

3 Unit Sharp Play on San Antonio Spurs -12.5

San Antonio is one of the best home teams in the league. Their 16-2 home record has yielded an 11-6-1 ATS mark on the year. The Knicks are really struggling this season with an 8-22 record. San Antonio is 16-4 ATS in home games when playing against a bad team (Win Pct. 25% to 40%) over the last 3 seasons. San Antonio is 31-13 ATS when playing 6 or less games in 14 days over the last 2 seasons. The Spurs are 8-1 ATS after 3 straight games forcing opponent to commit 14 or less turnovers this season. Cash in with San Antonio as the favorite.

This guy is on fire!!! (22-1 last 23 plays)

1*MEMPHIS +13.5 This is certainly not a game for those with a faint heart as this one will undoubtedly go down to wire even though were are getting a boat load of points. Traditional handicapping ideology will tell us the Memphis is an impressive 3-1 against Boston over their last 4 but considering that this is a Boston team that has been completely overhauled historical trends seem not to matter. However, what does matter is the fact this is a terrible situational setting for Boston as they have a monumental revenge game on deck against Detroit (tomorrow night). Detroit was the first team to defeat the Celtics at home earlier this season 87-85, two weeks ago. As bad as the Memphis record is (only 9 wins this season) they have shown the ability to play well against some of the better teams in the league by beating both San Antonio and Orlando last month. They also have a propensity of playing games close as 7 of their first 8 losses were decided three or less points. Considering we are getting a ton of points and Boston probably will already have the plain running lets take the away underdog and pray!
