NCAA EARLY RELEASE
BROWN-13

First of all let me say that losing Louisville last night was a nightmare. Harangody popping 3 threes and then the final bank in at the buzzer. Ouch.
On to today. Brown comes in averaging 69 points at home. Princeton averages 53 points away and has not won on the road yet. Brown has not played at home since feb 9. The last two home games they played they shot 54% from the field and 63% from the field. They had won six games in a row til they lost to Cornell. That loss should give them some extra focus. I look for Brown to lay it on Princeton. Also, early money coming in on Princeton and I always like that.

11* 21-10

PHILADELPHIA over *Golden State (NBA)...Technical and fundamental matchups favor Philly in this game, as the Sixers are one of the hottest teams in the league, logging a 10-2-1 mark against the spread in their last 13 games. Meanwhile, Golden State, which figures to be favored, has recorded an abysmal 6-17 chalk mark at Oracle Arena through Feb. 25 and yields an NBA-worst 108 ppg. Improved Sixer defense has been at the root of the Philly upswing, as Mo Cheeks? men have allowed just 91 ppg in their last 15 games, down from 97 ppg prior to that run. And, with G.S. big man Andris Biedrins (team-leading 10 rpg) sidelined after undergoing an emergency appendectomy,Warriors shorthanded on frontline.

PHILADELPHIA 108 - *Golden St. 99 RATING - 11

*TORONTO over Indiana (NBA)...Toronto has won and covered four straight against Indiana, which includes Monday night?s 102-98 decision at Indianapolis. The Raptors have been a dynamite home favorite this season, logging a 15-6 spread mark laying points at Air Canada Centre thru Feb. 26. Raptor bench had 55 points & 17 rebs. against the Pacers Monday, led by Carlos Delfino (23 pts., 5 reb.) & T.J.Ford (16 pts., 5 reb., 7 ast.).

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 29

*BROWN over PRINCETON by 12

*CORNELL over DARTMOUTH by 23
Red over Green, as Cornell seeks to become the first team not known as Princeton or Penn to
capture the Ivy title since . . . why . . . Cornell! . . . back in 1988. All the pieces were in place,
going into the season, and only question was whether old-time tradition would hold, one more
year. First round of the Dance may not be pretty, but for now, undefeated Ivy run will do the
fans/alums, just fine.

CORNELL 78-55

COLUMBIA 70-58

*YALE over PENNSYLVANIA by 13
Given that most of their ?06-?07 scoring punch returned from last season, Yale ranks as the most
mysterious disappointment of this year?s Ancient Eight. Enough stuff left to take these Quakers,
though.

RECOMMENDED
*TORONTO over INDIANA by 9
The Raptors have dominated the Pacers this season with their combination of a strong
low post presence and deadly outside shooters. Indiana has proven susceptible to teams
featuring that combination ? a weakness only exacerbated by the frequent absence of
Jermaine O?Neal from the starting line-up. These two teams match-up again after playing
on Monday and you have to expect the hometown Raptors, who are trying to mount
a strong second half surge, to take care of business.

TORONTO 103-94

*ATLANTA over NEW YORK by 8
Now that the West Coast road trip is over, the Hawks have to look forward to incorporating
Mike Bibby into their line-up. Games like these, against mediocre conference foes, are just
the type of games Bibby will give the Hawks a distinct advantage ? and hopefully an eventual
playoff berth. Look for Joe Johnson, in particular, to flourish with Bibby around to help
with ball handling and distribution

ATLANTA 96-88

*BOSTON over CHARLOTTE by 14
The Bobcats have the distinction of being one of the first teams to take down the Celtics ?
although the list of Boston conquerors has been growing lately ? but that sweet memory will
prove very distant in the backdrop of tonight?s game. Gerald Wallace just can?t catch a break,
most recently suffering a serious concussion when his face met Mikki Moore?s elbow, and
the Bobcats lost their best playmaker for the next month. That?s all the edge a vulnerable
Celtics team will need to exact some revenge.

BOSTON 91-77

*CLEVELAND over MINNESOTA by 11

BEST BET
*NEW ORLEANS over UTAH by 13

The last time these two teams faced off, the Hornets suffered an embarrassing 22-point
loss in Salt Lake City, with Deron Williams clearly outplaying Chris Paul after being
snubbed for the All-Star game. The Hornets are sure to remember, and with a national
audience watching on ESPN, Chris Paul and his teammates will be motivated to reverse
the previous game?s result.

NEW ORLEANS 114-101

WASHINGTON over *CHICAGO by 6

*DALLAS over SACRAMENTO by 2
The Kings finish a brutal East Coast road trip with a game in Dallas ? their fifth contest in
seven days. For a team that hasn?t experienced much success on the road this season, these
type of circumstances do not bode well for tonight?s outcome. Still, the Kings catch a slight
break in that the Mavericks spent last night playing the Spurs on national television ? if
Reggie Theus can do a proper job of motivating his players, there?s a solid chance of an upset
as long as Sacramento has some energy left in their legs.

DALLAS 94-92

*HOUSTON over MEMPHIS by 11

*DENVER over L.A. CLIPPERS by 14
The Nuggets aren?t world-beaters ? any interested observer should have figured that out by
now ? and management will ultimately regret not making a move before the trading deadline,
especially in light of the flurry of moves that were made. Still, Allen Iverson and Carmelo
Anthony are a lethal scoring duo and the Clippers might as well be an Eastern Conference
team.

DENVER 116-102

*GOLDEN STATE over PHILADELPHIA by 16
The Sixers begin a three-game trek out West by visiting the Golden State Warriors, themselves
coming off a nice two days of rest to prepare for tonight?s game. The most important
thing to realize about this match-up is that regardless of how shoddy Golden State?s defense
may be, the Sixers just do not have the scorers to keep up in this kind of contest ? in fact,
few teams do, but the Sixers are amazing in their lack of proven scorers and go-to guys.

GOLDEN STATE 117-101

L.A. LAKERS over *PORTLAND by 2
Portland hosts the Lakers after spending two days this week at the Staples Center ? will they
have better luck against Kobe and crew in their friendly home confines? Possibly, but it?s
tough to pick a team that has been sliding so badly against one that has been playing so well.

L.A. LAKERS 96-94

*SEATTLE over MIAMI by 7
It?s possible the Heat could take down the Sonics ? after all, Seattle is one of the few teams
that sports a record anywhere near as bad as Miami. But then again, the Sonics play in front
of 25 fans at most and face off against the West much more than the Heat ? so perhap the
comparison is not apt. Don?t forget that Miami also played last night in L.A.

WINNING POINTS

***BEST BET
*Houston over Memphis by 24
After losing to Memphis in mid-November, the Rockets have defeated the Grizzlies
the past two times by an average of 16.5 points. The Rockets have been red-hot going
15-1 SU and 11-5 ATS through Feb. 23. Tracy McGrady has regained his All-Star allaround
game and Luis Scola has been a good fit to the starting lineup providing needed
muscle for Yao Ming. The Grizzlies already are playing for draft position, after giving
away their best player, Pau Gasol.

HOUSTON 115-91

***BEST BET
*Seattle over Miami by 16
There aren?t many teams worse than Seattle in the NBA. Miami is one such club. The
Heat were a mind-boggling 1-26 SU through Feb. 25. The Sonics actually have
improving players with Chris Wilcox and Kevin Durant. Now that the team is overhauled
expect good efforts from the Sonics. Miami is coming off a game the night
before against the Lakers, a game it will take more serious than this one. The Heat had
failed to cover the past six times when playing in the second of back-to-back games.

THE SPORTS ADVISORS

NBA

Indiana (22-36, 26-32 ATS) at Toronto (32-24, 32-23-1 ATS)
The Raptors will try to complete a season sweep of the Pacers when the two teams meet inside the Air Canada Centre.
Toronto is 3-0 SU and ATS against Indiana this season and has won four straight overall (4-0 ATS) and five of six (5-1 ATS) against the Pacers. In the most recent meeting on Monday, the Raptors scored a 102-98 win in Indiana as a three-point favorite to improve to 21-8 ATS in the last 29 series battles.
Including Monday?s victory over the Pacers, Toronto is on a 7-3 SU and ATS roll, having rattled off three straight wins and covers in its last three. On Wednesday, the Raptors topped the Timberwolves 107-85 as an 11?-point home chalk, their fourth consecutive SU and ATS triumph in front of the home fans.
While the Raptors are rolling, Indiana is struggling, having lost six of seven overall (1-6 ATS), including the last three in a row (0-3 ATS). The Pacers followed up Monday?s loss to Toronto with Wednesday?s 113-107 home setback to the Bulls as a one-point favorite.
The straight-up winner has covered the spread in each of the Raptors? last 30 contests and is 52-3-1 ATS in Toronto games this season. Also, the winner is 10-0 ATS in Indiana?s last 10 overall, 7-0 ATS in its last seven on the road and 9-1 ATS in the last 10 series meetings between these squads.
The Raptors are 18-11 SU and ATS in Canada this season, including 14-3 ATS in their last 17 as a home favorite. They?re also 8-3 ATS in their last 11 against Central Division opponents.
Indiana is mired in pointspread slumps of 1-5 on the road, 0-5 as an underdog, 5-13 against the Atlantic Division, 17-38-1 against the Eastern Conference and 9-16 this year when playing on one day of rest.
The under is 5-1 in the last six head-to-head meetings, 6-2-1 in the Pacers? last nine overall and 5-0-1 the last six times they?ve been underdogs. Meanwhile, for Toronto, the over is 7-1 in its last eight against the Eastern Conference and 9-3 in its last 12 as a favorite.
ATS ADVANTAGE: TORONTO

Utah (37-21, 30-28 ATS) at New Orleans (38-18, 33-22-1 ATS)
The Jazz look for a rare road win tonight when they visit New Orleans Arena to take on the Hornets in key Western Conference matchup.
Utah has won seven of its last 10 overall (5-5 ATS) and beat the Pistons 103-95 Wednesday as two-point home favorites. However, the Jazz have the worst road record among the NBA?s top 14 teams at 12-18 SU and ATS. Jerry Sloan?s squad has dropped three of its last four SU and ATS on the highway, including Tuesday?s surprising 111-100 loss in Minnesota as a seven-point favorite.
New Orleans ended a three-game SU and ATS skid with Wednesday?s 120-103 home victory over the Suns as a 3?-point favorite. The Hornets shot 53.3 percent from the floor and put up the 120 points after only averaging 87 per game during the three-game losing streak. Going back to Dec. 19, Byron Scott?s squad has won 23 of its last 31 games (21-10 ATS). Also, the SU winner is 31-2 ATS in the Hornets? last 33 outings.
Utah has taken the first two matchups with the Hornets this season, both in Salt Lake City, winning 99-71 back in November as a 6?-point favorite and 110-88 on Feb. 4 as a 3?-point chalk. The Jazz have won eight of the last 10 head-to-head meetings (6-3-1 ATS).
The Jazz have cashed in five straight games against the Southwest Division and they?re 10-3 ATS in their last 10 contests against the Western Conference. Meanwhile, New Orleans is on ATS tears of 5-1 against the Northwest Division and 9-4 at home.
The over is 37-17 in Utah?s last 53 games as a ?dog, 10-3 in New Orleans? last 13 home games and 12-4 the last 16 times the Hornets have been favored. However, the under hit in each of the first two series meetings this year and is 4-1 in the last five.
ATS ADVANTAGE: NONE

L.A. Lakers (41-17, 40-19-1 ATS) at Portland (30-28, 29-29 ATS)
The Lakers will try to extend their 10-game winning streak tonight and try to beat the Blazers for the second time this week when they head up the coast for a game inside the Rose Garden.
Los Angeles extended its winning streak to 10 with a 106-88 rout of the Heat in Hollywood Thursday night, easily covering as 14?-point favorites. The Lakers are 9-1 ATS during the streak, but the only non-cover came in Tuesday?s 96-83 home win over Portland when they failed to get the cash as a 15?-point chalk.
After losing to the Lakers on Tuesday, Portland stuck around the Staples Center for Wednesday?s game against the Clippers, prevailing 82-80 as a two-point road underdog. Although they?ve followed up a 1-14 ATS slump with back-to-back covers, the Blazers are still just 2-8 SU in their last 10.
These two teams have split the last 10 series matchups, but the Blazers have gotten the cash six straight times and seven of the last eight. The former Pacific Division rivals haven?t met in Portland since November 2006, when the Blazers delivered a 101-90 victory as a 4?-point chalk, improving to 10-2 ATS in their last 12 home contests against L.A. Finally, the underdog has dominated the series lately, going 19-7 ATS in the last 26.
The Lakers have rattled off seven straight wins and pointspread covers on the road, and they are 21-9-1 ATS when hitting the highway this season. Also, despite Tuesday?s non-cover against Portland, Phil Jackson?s troops are still on ATS runs of 21-8-1 overall, 6-2 against Northwest Division teams and 6-0-1 on Fridays.
Portland is 3-3 SU at home in February but 0-6 ATS. In fact, going back to mid-January, the Blazers have failed to cash in nine straight games at the Rose Garden. They?re also 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games played on one day of rest.
The under is 11-1 in Portland?s last 12 Friday tip-offs, 8-2 in its last 10 overall and 18-11 at the Rose Garden this season. Also, the Lakers have stayed low in four straight contests, and the under is 2-0 in the last two head-to-head meetings in Portland.
ATS ADVANTAGE: PORTLAND and UNDER

The Celtics got their defense going on the road trip with the return of Kevin Garnett to the middle of the lineup. Their last two games went under the total, holding the Clippers to 76 and the Cavs to 87. A weak offensive Charlotte team comes to town, one averaging just 91 ppg on the road. The last meeting Boston one 95-83 in a game that sailed under the total. This one will too, play the Bobcats/Celtics under the total!

Orlando is a strong offensive team because they like the up tempo style, averaging 104 ppg at home. The Knicks have been a strong offensive team of late because they don?t play any defense! NY is on an 8-0 run over the total playing matador defense allowing lay up after lay up. In fact, they are 19-9 over the total on the road. Don?t look for any defense, play the Knicks/Magic over the total!

DAVE COKIN

Fairfield could be a legit sleeper in the upcoming MAAC Tourney. The Stags have come on strong down the stretch and look for their sixth straight win tonight as they host a mediocre Manhattan entry. I'll go with the hot hand in this contest, Fairfield minus the spot

New York (+6') at ATLANTA Karl Garrett

The G-Man is on a 54-38-2 comp play run as I hit the NBA floor this Friday night.

Call the G-Man crazy, but I am actually going to take the Knicks and the points tonight in the NBA!

New York is among the most disappointing teams in the association, but they are actually making money for their backers recently, as the Knickerbockers are a positive 4-3 straight up their last 7 games, and an even better 5-2-1 against the spread their last 8 times on the hardwood.

Atlanta counters with outright wins in just 2 of their last 10, and they are just 2-3-1 against the spread the last 6 times they have been installed as favorites.

For the season, the Knicks are 15-12-1 against the spread away from Madison Square Garden, and in the series it is New York that boasts a 4-2 mark both straight up, and against the spread the last 6 times these clubs have faced one another.

Hawks may get the outright, but the G-Man doesn't see them covering

2♦ NEW YORK

Washington at CHICAGO (-5) Bobby Maxwell

Now 9-4 with our last 13 FREE selections as we hit the pro hardwood tonight with a complimentary selection on the Bulls as they host the Wizards in the United Center in Chicago.

The Chicago Bulls have won three in a row over the Wizards, five of six and seven of nine dating back to 2005. Tonight will be no different as the Bulls are starting to score points with their new-look roster.

The Bulls have averaged 108.2 points a game in their last five games, more than 12 points above their season average. Chicago is coming off a 113-107 victory in Indiana on Wednesday as one-point underdogs and have gone 7-3 ATS in its last 10 overall.

Washington has lost seven of its last 10 overall and just got clobbered in Houston on Tuesday, 94-69 as 11-point underdogs.

The Bulls won the first meeting between these two back in December, 95-84 as a 5 1/2-point underdog in Washington, and the Wizards are 2-7 ATS in their last nine meetings in Chicago.

Go ahead and lay the chalk and play the Bulls in this one. They win this one by 15.

4♦ CHICAGO

Utah +3' at NEW ORLEANS Sports Gambling Hotline

Winner last night on the Lakers to move our free play run to 109-89-4!

Just as New Orleans has matched up well against Phoenix this season, Utah has matched up well against New Orleans this year.

The Jazz and Hornets have faced each other twice this year, and both times Utah has come away with the easy double-digit win and cover. Utah's series win streak stands at 4 in a row, and 8 of their last 10. Against the spread, the Jazz is 6-3-1 in those 10 meetings.

We say more of the same tonight, as Utah is a smoking 20-5 straight up since the start of the new year.

The Hornets aren't that far behind, as they have gone 18-7 since the start of 2008, but their recent 3-game slide worries us, as they did drop a home game to a banged up Washington team in that span.

Until New Orleans shows they can handle this matchup, we will take any points we can get and side with the Jazz.

Play on Utah.

2♦ UTAH

Utah (+3?) at NEW ORLEANS Joel Tyson

Take the points in this NBA match up that should be a battle royale as two of the league?s best collide in New Orleans as the Jazz come calling.

The Jazz enters at 37-21 overall while the Hornets find themselves sitting at 38-18 on the year. Utah has had their way with this Hornet?s team as of late, posting wins in the last four match ups including a 110-88 victory earlier this month.

The Jazz have been victorious seven times out of their last 10 tries overall, while the Hornets have won just once over their last four breaking a three game losing streak last time out against the Suns.

Both teams pretty much look alike on paper as the Jazz average 105.4 ppg overall and the Hornets score at a rate of 100.1 ppg. On defense the Jazz give up an average of 99.8 compared to the Hornet?s 95.0 ppg.

The play is Utah and the points in a close one.

3♦ JAZZ

Chuck Franklin Philadelphia at GOLDEN STATE (-5')

Free Pick winner last night from College Hoops with Wisconsin in an absolute blowout over Michigan State. Tonight it'll be just as easy with this NBA Freebie. I've got the Inside Edge on the Odds!

As well as Philadelphia is playing lately, they are still only a mediocre team from the Eastern Conference with a 26-32 record. They have been averaging 101 points per game during a recent 10-4 run. Tonight they head out west for the first of three Western Conference opponents.

They will see what high-scoring really means playing at Golden State, a team that leads the league in scoring at an average of 110 points per game. The Warriors have scored at least 100 points in each of the last 20 games.

Golden State has won four in a row against the 76ers and they have covered the spread 10 of the last 14 in this series, including 5 of the last six played in Oakland. The Warriors are 4-1 ATS the last five games played against teams with a losing record.

This will be a double-digit win for the home team!

EDGEONODDS FRIDAY NBA FREEPLAY

Philadelphia 76ers @ Golden State Warriors
Pick: Golden State -5.5 & OVER 215.5

Reasoning: Who needs defense when you are scoring 110 points a game? That has been the tale for the Warriors all season. Golden State ranks 1st overall in offense (110.0) a game, and last in defense (107.9) against. At home the Warriors have the knack to get teams running and playing their style of game. This has showed at the betting window. 19 of the 29 Warrior home games and flew OVER the total. The Sixers have played 4 of their last 5 games OVER the total; three of the four came on the road. Philly is averaging a total of 108 points per game in their last four. In 6 of the last 7 times Philadelphia has made the cross country trip to California the total has gone OVER with the home team covering 4 of the past 10. The Sixers are 4-10 ATS in the previous 14 meetings and just 1-5 in the past 6 played in Golden State. Today?s total sits at 215.5 which is about right on par for these two teams meeting up. Some of the past totals included 207, 214, 206 and 208. Golden State has struggled in the first half of recent ball games but always pull them out with huge 3rd and 4th quarter runs. You may very well see another one of those with Philadelphia holding leads into halftime in 5 of their last 7 ball games. Look for a high paced ball game with a big finish putting this game over the posted 215.5 total. Take the WARRIORS and the OVER.

May the Winners Be Yours,

The off season acquisitions made by Los Angeles will put them in a position to challenge for the Eastern Division title this season. Head Coach Sonny Cumbie likes to light it up and look for him to do just that in this high scoring opening game. Our Friday Arena Football complimentary selection is Los Angeles ? New Orleans OVER the TOTAL

Bob Akmens

Columbia -8.0

This play is the result of a successful computer model that has allowed Bob Akmens Sports to finish in first-place in 152 different categories of documented monitored handicapping contests since 1978.

The computer models I?ve developed for each sport look at the most-predictive variables that go into the winning and losing of games.

Several interesting factors in today?s play are as follows ?

HARVARD bums you out and does NOT cover when they?re [all figures are ATS (against-the-spread)]:

A road dog of +6.5-9 points this year: 1-5 ATS last 6 games

Any kind of a road dog: 1-6 ATS last 7 games

Trying to get revenge for a home loss to the team they?re playing: 3-6 ATS last 9 games

Playing a team with any sort of winning record: 6-12 ATS last 18 games

COLUMBIA, on the other hand, makes you money and COVERS when they?re:

Playing anybody this year: 10-3 ATS last 13 games

Playing another Ivy team: 7-3 ATS last 10 games

Playing in the cold month of February: 6-2 ATS last 8 games

Playing a lousy team like Harvard with its 8-18 SU record (actually any team with a losing record): 5-1 ATS last 7 games

GO WITH COLUMBIA -8

Game: Utah Jazz at New Orleans Hornets
Prediction: New Orleans Hornets

Note: The Stingers head back to the Hive to host the Jazz in another payback special on tap Friday night. This time it?s with nasty revenge, we might add, as New Orleans has taken it on the chops twice against Utah this season. The first loss was a 99-71 shellacking in Salt Lake City, the lowest production of the season by the Hornets. The second was a 110-88 beating, also in Utah, earlier this month. The Jazz just hosted, and beat, Detroit at the Delta Center Wednesday night, setting the table for tonight?s fray. That?s because NBA road teams are 11-22 ATS when going into revenge of more than 15 points after playing the Pistons, including 3-13 ATS as dogs. With Utah is 3-7 SU & 2-8 ATS away on Fridays off a home game, we'll stay at home with the Hornets here tonight.

Montreal Canadiens -122.0

The Montreal Canadiens enter into this tilt against the Buffalo Sabres , having lost 3 straight meetings in this series ,out scoring them during that span by a lopsided 11-3 count. I know the Habs have revenge on board , and are in good form, as is evident by winning 4 of their L6 , but the Sabres are no push overs at home, and will be ready to continue their domination of the eastern conference foes. Final notes & Trends: Buffalo goalie Ryan Miller, 10-3-2 with a 2.29 goals-against average in 15 career starts against the Canadiens. Montreal has also lost 21 of their 29 games in upstate NY. Home team s 7-1 L8 meetings in this series. Play on the Sabres

Play on: Philadelphia over Golden State

Sixers an amazing 11-2-1 ATS since January 26th and, finally getting attention nationally and on the Las Vegas highway. However, it is always dangerous when an east coast club takes on a west coast swing, while in the midst of a winning streak. Still, I must back the game Philly group who will need to play solid perimeter defense to cover the number, because this is not the hapless Orlando long range bombers hoisting

Great Lakes

Miami at Seattle

Play on: Seattle Supersonics

The Seattle Supersonics are playing better of late going 6-3 ATS in their last nine games, and 12-8 ATS vs the Miami Heat since 1996. The Seattle Supersonics is also 4-1 ATS as a favorite this year, and 8-4 ATS when playing on Friday Nights this year. We look for the Seattle Supersonics to roll over the Miami Heat for the home ATS Win & cover tonight.

Memphis Grizzlies @ Houston Rockets
PICK: Memphis Grizzlies

REASON FOR PICK: Hakim Warrick is playing well. Rudy Gay is having a breakthrough season. Hey, it's hard to find positive things to say about the Memphis Grizzlies.

Memphis has dropped 12 of its last 13. Houston has won its last 13 games. But this being the NBA, you have to zig and zag. This is a letdown spot for the Rockets. Look for Memphis to cover this large spread.

The Rockets buried Washington in their last game on Tuesday, 94-69. The Rockets were playing for the first time knowing Yao Ming would be out for the season. The Rockets were fired-up because of that. They also were catching the Wizards playing in their fourth game in five nights and off a buzzer-beating upset road victory against New Orleans.

I don't see the Rockets having that kind of emotion in their second game without Yao, especially with a nationally televised home game against Denver on Sunday up next. It will be hard for the Rockets to take the Grizzlies seriously and without Yao, they no longer have the talent to bury bad teams unless they're on their "A" game.

Take Toronto Raptors ?10 over Indiana Pacers.

The Pacers look to avoid a fourth straight loss as they visit the Raptors but a victory in Canada is not likely for Indy. Toronto has won three straight games and has already clinched its first season series win over the Pacers in seven years. They?ve also beaten Indiana four straight times at home and have won their last four home games by a margin of at least 17 points.

Selection: Columbia -8 (-110)

Today Columbia will be on the road as they take on Harvard. We will lay the points with Columbia! Columbia has the much better defense. Columbia (at home) is allowing opponents to score an average of only 66.6 points per game, while Harvard (on the road) is allowing opponents to score an average of 79.9 points per game. This means the Columbia defense is allowing opponents to score an average of 13.3 points per game less then the Harvard defense. In addition, we already know Columbia can beat Harvard. In fact, Columbia is a perfect 4-0 ATS In their last 4 meetings against Harvard. Lay the points!

Take Columbia -8

TONY WESTON

The Nuggets are only 2-3 SU and ATS their last five games, but it?s not because of a lack of offense. No, in those five games the Nuggets are averaging 117 points per game, about 10 points more than their 107.6-point-per-game season average.
Now they get to take on a Clippers team that?s averaging only 83.6 points per game their last three games where they?re 0-3 SU and ATS.
The last time these two teams met was Nov. 30 when the Nuggets destroyed the Clippers 123-107 in Denver.
The Nuggets, who are 17-12 ATS at home, will be able to take advantage of a poor offensive team in the Clippers, who are only 11-14 ATS on the road this year.
Denver will have an easy go at it against the Clippers.
Take the Nuggets at home.

For Friday take the Pacers up North.

These teams just played a few nigths ago at Conseco and it was the Raptors who won by four points and just barely covered the number. I had a comp play there on the Pacers and came up short. I admitted then and still admit that Toronto is the far superior team but I will still try my hand with the underdog in this spot as well.
No doubt Toronto is a solid squad that is once again headed to the playoffs. They are led by a stud in Chris Bosh and Indiana is a reeling franchise who is once again without its best player in Jermaine O'Neal but this number is a bit much and I do not mind some of the parts that the Pacers have to offer. Danny Grander, Mike Dunleavy, Troy Murphy, Jamaal Tinsley and a few others are better than their terrible 22-36 mark indicates and in this revenge spot why not grab double digits plus!?!?!?
Indiana has dropped three in a row and six of seven and really have no motivation except for revenge so call me a sucker but I will make a small play on them at this gargantuan price!

John Ryan

NHL 7* Monster Dog of the Month +5117 made $35.00
Ryan won his 5* Triple System Monster play and has made 5117 units this season translating into more than 18K for the $100 per * unit player. This is Ryan?s strongest graded DOG of the season and is backed by a strong 12-year proven system and angles sporting a 34-11 mark for 75% and 33.6 units made.

7* underdog Montreal

Game: San Jose Sharks at Detroit Red Wings Feb 29 2008 7:35PM
Prediction: San Jose Sharks

Reason: Ai Simulator 3* graded play on San Jose. Supporting this graded play is a system that has gone 154-119 and has made 56.6 units since 1996. Play against home teams when the money line is -100 to -150 that is a good team outscoring their opponents by 0.3+ gpg and after playing a game where 7 or more total goals were scored. Detroit has a very strong power play scoring on 20.5% of their opportunities and ranks 4th in the NHL. However, San Jose has the 2nd best PP killing team allowing opponents to score on just 13.9% of their chances. Note that San Jose is 8-2 against the money line (+6.1 Units) in road games against excellent power play teams scoring on > 19% of their chances this season. Note that Detroit is in a weak role sporting a 8-13 money line mark (-14.3 Units) against good power play killing teams that are allowing opposition to score on <14.5% of chances in the 2nd half of the year over the last 3 seasons. Take San Jose.

NBA

Game: (623) Philadelphia 76ers vs. (624) Golden State Warriors

Time: 10:35 PM EST
Line: Golden State Warriors -6
Rating: TWO-Star

Selection: (623) PHILADELPHIA 76ERS +6

Analysis:

The Warriors have not been any help to their backers when playing at Oracle Arena where they are allowing an NBA worst 108 points per game which has translated into a 6-18 ATS record for Golden State when laying chalk at home. If they were hoping for an easy ?W? with the 76ers coming to town they will be in for a rude awakening as this Philly team has intensified their defensive effort and now only allow 91 points per game over their last 15 contests. That is a 6 point per game improvement on the defensive side of the ball. The 76ers improved play on defense has also helped in the ticket window for Philly backers as they are on an 11-2-1 ATS run their last 14 games. Golden State also qualifies in a negative situation that says to Play Against teams coming in off two ATS losses at home now playing a non-conference opponent with a line range of 6 to 8 points these teams are 23-45 ATS. The Warriors are also 1-9 ATS off a SU win and an ATS loss while going under at home in their last game. With Golden State struggling and Philly much improved we will take the points here as the 76ers get the ATS win and it would not surprise this bureau if they got the straight up win as well.
