I just want to say one quiet comment:

I have met Mags in Las Vegas. I have met many who post in the different forums @MJ's. Scott shirked my invitation once while in Atlanta, yet I think he is as honest as they come, in my opinion.

Mags seems to be the same way. I respect Mags even though we are opposites in some politcal ways.

I see Mags' writings lately as going too far, as I have done in the past. It is easy to get caught up in cyber wars when we never see the face of those we debate. Mags has gone too far, as some others in this thread. I guess it portrays national sentiment to some extent?

Anyways, I vouch for Mags being a standup guy.

Just one idiot's opinion, me.

You should find the thread where Mags asks to meet Muff in France. Muff gives him a location and then offers to buy him dinner. Mags backs out and insults Muff when Mags was the one who asked him to meet up. Its a comical thread. I'll have to dig it up when I have some time later.

Right behind you
No problem, Archie-Atlanta. I know he is your hero, so I'm sure the thought of being called Archie gives you a slight stirring sensation below the waist.

You should call your little kiddies over to the computer monitor and let them read what you post, and explain to them what it means. While you're at it, you can show them your posts about child pornography and explain that too.

And you can explain to them the difference between fuck and fxxk which you prefer..

I did have some doubts about you, Maggot, but now I am certain.

You are a bigger piece of shit than even Raymond.

Show this to your kiddies and explain it too.

You asked what role luck plays. What about this - your children have been very, very unlucky to have a vile, foul-mouthed hypocrite for a father. Unless they're lucky enough to get a new and different father while they're still young, they'll grow up just like you. What a shame.

Now I ask you, Mags, where would you be if your parents had been uneducated, dirt poor WV hillbillies?

Where would you be if you'd been born autistic?

Where would you be if you'd been abandoned by a crack-whore Mama?

Where would you be if you'd contracted ALS ten years ago?

Where would you be if you had a sixth grade education and had spent your working life as a loom fixer?

I've been lucky and so have you. Not everyone is.
Well, you've hit upon the fundamental difference between liberals and neoconservatives, Duff... compassion.

Neoconservatives are incapable of understanding the plight of the underclass, immigrants, minorities or the countless third world victims of our imperialistic foreign policy.

I as a 68 year old would have kicked Russ and Ron Kind in the ass if they had voted against H P. I read most and watch mark up session. It helps us old guys. But you cant believe how many I know that drank the wine/cooll aid and thought there insurrance was doubling.
Hers a interesting number over 13million stay home. Who? 18 to 29 year old kids that voted in 08 to help put O in office 61% support. I wonder if they know by not voting how many won that should not have. 15/20 maybe 30. The answer will come in 2012. O did a lot for that age group.

We liberals don't want something for nothing. I'm perfectly willing, always have been, to pay my share. In fact I'm quite certain that I've paid far more in than you have. I paid the maximum SS for 45 consecutive years, and the maximum Medicare for 40 years. I've paid every penny I owed in Federal, state and local taxes. I've never collected one cent in unemployment, food stamps, or income assistance. In return, I want my socialistic benefits.

I want government provided education, for all, K-12. I want decent roads. I want effective police and fire protection. I want my food, water, air and drugs to be safe.

I want retirement benefits and medical care.

And I want all my fellow citizens to have the same things. Rich, poor, black, white, decent folks and assholes - we all share the same country and we should all receive the same essential benefits.

Some of us will contribute more than others, and some of us will receive more than others. That's the luck of the draw, just like insurance.

You are in favor of insurance, aren't you? Car insurance, house insurance, Old Age and Survivors Insurance, Unemployment Insurance?

Non-essentials, a fancy house, car, airplane, beach house, vacations in France - those are non-essentials. If you can figure out how to earn enough to have those things, great. If you cannot, then make do with just the basics, but everyone should have the necessities of life, not just the more fortunate.
Btw Duff... This was a great post. :toast:

Trench,

Just curious, what do you mean when you say it "was a great post?" Is it no longer a good post? Did it expire?

Or is it a great post ?

Sorry about that Trench, shit like this happens when my mom was a school teacher for 30 years.
