Freeze-Maybe you don't understand how complicated playing quaterback on the pro level is.John Madden, who does, sayes qbs should be left on the bench for FIVE years until they know whats going on.Also,it is the playcalling (reads coaching decision) that has consciously decided to play it ultra conservative and try and win with the defense and not let him make mistakes.Bob Trumpy was saying it on the radio last night,Parcells won't give Carter the keys to the car yet.He doesn't understand enough yet.Name me one pro qb besides Dan Marino who looks like a vet in his third year. The best one in the league right now,McNair, didn't play his first two years at all.Are you a polished doctor after three years of med school? They're 7-3,Parcells has em in first place and you can either root for them or not.Yeesh what a grouch.

Running back is the primary concern in the offseason. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Boys make a deal to get Dillon from Cincy.

Also, they're going to have to decide what they are going to do with QC this offseason. Personally, I don't think he's the long term answer and I'm starting to think Bill feels the same way. He has been a marginal player for Dallas thus far, but we need something better than that if we want to get back to the Super Bowl. That being said, I think Q has been one of the most improved players not only in Dallas but all of the NFL. You have to respect him for his improvements that came by hard work.

freeze, I feel your pain, although you deserving of some losing seasons in Dallas. You had your incredible run, welcome to NFL mediocrity. As a loyal Patriots fan I to have sat through 2-14 seasons. Tuna will change cowboy s fast, this looks identical to his first season rebuilding in New England in 93'.

Not necessarily fair saying Carter has 3 seasons experienced, how much playing time did he get season #1? The time last year was totally wasted, would have served better if he didn't play last season, because he had to unlearn everything from last years system and learn current system. I don't care what anyone says tuna and his systems work, even with average quarterbacks ie.(Simms, Hoss, Bledsoe, Vinnie, Hell parcels even made Ray Lucas look decent. There is no way you can say Carter doesn't look appreciabley better than last season. The kid possesses incredible raw athletic ability, probably as close to Michael VICK, as you will see at the quarterback position in the NFL. Strictly athletic ability I'm saying. If Carter wasn't mentally capable of learning & running the offense he wouldn't be there, plain and simple.

New England had a athletic quarterback here couple years ago, Michael Bishop. Guy set unbelievable rushing & passing records at an Kansas State. Couldn't learn offense, was cut, never seen again.
Carter has a Way above average NFL arm, his speed agility & escapeabilty is among tops in League, he simply needs more time to learn offense. Several balls were dropped last night, a primarily by Bryant, his numbers were appreciabley better than Bradys until the late desperation interceptions.

Given Bellchick 2 whole weeks to scheme against a rookie quarterback of course he will struggle somewhat & look confused at times.

Most people even NFL fans realize this Patriots defense is EXTREMELY GOOD. They lost Colvin, Johnson, Washington, and Law during week 2. Everyone is coming back now. The Patriots haven't allowed a touchdown at home since October 5 against Tennessee, whose ass they dominated. Giants and Cleveland both scored 0 touchdowns before Cowboys laid a egg before them, the Defense is solid.

Hang tight, Bill will turn and things around for you down there, just takes little time.

Freeze this by FAR has to be the STUPIDEST shit that ever came outta your mouth.....stick to the books because it's like night and day how this kid has turned himself around compared to last year and if you can't see that then your BLIND.

Horrible offense?? Your joking right? They have one of the TOP offenses in the league this year fool. Where have you been? Oh that's right STUDYING. They have a solid offensive line....a TOP 3 trio of receivers and a QB that's progressing....running back stinks but hopefully they will address that issue next year.

Oh and before I forget to mention...I'm sick and tired of people saying including yourself that they haven't played anyone. The way I see it is 4 outta their 7 victories have come against teams that have had 2 FOCKIN WEEKS to prepare for the sorry ass cowboys and still LOST....hmmmmm

Chopsticks-check out Shamrocks post. The guy will either be a great one or the next Tony Banks,it all depends on his ability to read defenses and he hasn't had enough time to learn exactly what his reads are for the 300 plus defensive looks he might face against every one of his offensive sets........yet.There isn't a one of his critics here that could have done it with his experience level. He has great skills,(reads arm, speed.)Only time will tell.Again, who can name a great third year QB (at reading defenses)besides Marino?

Peyton Manning, Montana, Tom Brady, Boomer Esiason...off the top of my head, there are more. All of those QB's showed the ability to accurately read defenses in their second or third year in the league, produced good/excellent numbers and led their teams to winning records.

What I don't like about Carter is he still looks like a deer in headlights once he sees a blitz is coming. (at last he did during last nights game) Pats would put 7 guys at the line and you could see by Carters body language he wanted no part of it.
