for me, anything with Tequila.
or, for that matter, NOTHING with tequila :)

if you like margarita's ....

The Perfect Margarita #1
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ingredients:
crushed Ice
3 wedges Lime
2 oz Gold tequila (Cuervo 1800)
1/2 oz Tequila (Cuervo white)
1 1/4 oz Rose's Lime Juice
1/2 oz Triple sec (Bols)
1 splash Orange Curacao (Bols)

Mixing instructions:
Put all ingredients except the 3 lime wedges into a shaker. Squeeze 2 of the lime wedges into the shaker. SHAKE WELL! Rim outside of glass only, with lime. Salt only the outside of glass. Add fresh crushed ice to glass. Strain mixture over ice. Squeeze remaining lime wedge in glass. Enjoy!

this preparation came out of a book that came with the Jimmy Buffett box set ( giving credit where credit is due).

CLASSIC (96?100)/Highest Recommendation

Midleton 1998 Very Rare Blended Whiskey (Austin, Nichols & Co., New York, NY) 40% abv $100. Honey/amber/harvest gold color. The luscious aroma is apple-like and bountiful right from the pour; the second pass reveals a decadent maltiness that?s multilayered; still later, the bouquet expands into a two-track whiskey experience that?s sweet/malty/toasty on the surface and rich/fruity/ripe underneath. The palate entry shows a fleeting glimpse of orange zest, then turns into sweet malt and toffee at the midpalate stage. Profoundly concentrated and complex. The finish is long, sweet, malty, and a touch spicy. Compares favorably with the glorious 1995.

****************

No, I haven't had the pleasure!

But that review alone would be reason enough for me to crack it open. I've never seen a whiskey improve in flavor once it's bottled. :) :)

Absolut screwdriver, or from my early days of learning to drink in Mexico, Presidente and Coke. :)

I sometimes like to go on a binge of Texas Tea.

Crown with ice.

When I'm feeling like a broad, I'll drink Captain Morgan with anything. You can really suck that stuff down when you mix it with something sweet.

Yepitsme you brought back memories.I worked in a catering hall that handled weddings & used to live on white or black Russians. It was a great time.
Now I drink anything other than beer, wine or scotch with Cap't.Morgans Rum as my favorite.

SLEDGEHAMMER

SLEDGEHAMMER

Sledgehammers are the perfect Summer drink.

fill a gallon wide-mouth container with crushed ice. add one cup of sugar. squeeze eight lemons into the mix. then fill to the rim with your favorite vodka. wrap a towel around the jug and shake until the towel freezes to the outside. then its ready. tastes just like lemonade with a nice warm afterburn.

after a couple you'll know why they call em sledgehammers:brows:

Wild Turkey and Coke.

Those things are so good. They also happen to be the official drink of Alabama football games. At least in the student section they are. :toast: :drinky:

Different mood = Different drink

Different mood = Different drink

Maker's and water when I'm drinking and talking business. Not sure why, but it's the way kentucky boys are raised.

Margarita when I'm outside on a porch during the day. I use to have a great recipe for margaritas that had powdered sugar in it. Do you know this one, prospector or jack?

Grey Goose Dirty Martini when I feel like a drink before dinner.

Red Wine--at least one glass every day when I'm not in any the above situations. I've just started drinking and appreciating wines in the last 3 months but I am hooked. I get so excited about trying good ($20-$60 in a store--equivalent to $50-$175 in a restaraunt) wine these days. I rarely go to bars on weekends anymore. I would much rather eat a good meal with a nice bottle of wine for the same money.

I have a second job waiting tables and the owner knows his shit about wines. It's a lot of fun to talk about with him. There was a table of 8 that came in the other night and spent $1100 on wine during dinner. Their bill was $1800 and they tipped the girl $1300. I could not f#@$ing believe it. I will never throw money away like that no matter how rich I am.
