I wanna put one thought in your Soccer thread. What about the Chile/Ecuador match? Draw puts BOTH thru to the World Cup. On face value, I'd say this is a handshake agreement - draw, why mess w/ it? Reality is that even a loss (for either) would leave loser in good shape. Uruguay would have to win by maybe 3 goals over ARG, to push the Chi/Ecu loser into playoff vs Jordan!
Even then the So Amer playoff team would be big fav to beat Jordan in 2 legs. I just can't imagine Chi/Ecu want to mess w/ 2 extra games.
One interesting scenario played out four years ago. Chile had qualified and were ecstatic. In final game, one may have thought that Chile would lay down (vs ECU). The TWIST was that the Chile mgr was Argentine! He wanted to win to get Argentina thru! And that's exactly what happened, 1-0.
Got all that? Still think these pricks handshake a draw in backroom. 1.71 odds!

Mex/Uru was supposed to be a "handshake game" in last world cup, and URU won 1-0.
You see Italian Serie A games where a draw would benefit both. Odds often like 1.80. Sometimes hits, sometimes doesn't. But u do some shady plays.

I haven't been following SA qualification and this sure looks tempting but i'm not going to play that. Draw is now around -123 (was -150) and under 2? is -200... As you pointed out in Italy there are often "understanding" between teams and they still don't finish the way excepted. Reason might be that one player doesn't like the other team and scores late goal just to fuck with them :mj07:
Is see this as a medium risk low reward bet, under might have decent value ?

with public speculations like that match odds just doesn't reflect the real situation
