So I go next?

4) "I am the son
And the heir
Of a shyness that is criminally vulgar"

And I'll count myself as a past winner and not answer your post - but am seriously awed at the quality of choice

Awaiting a classy winner....

Let see if you guys know this one

Should I be feelin' bad?
Should I be feelin' good?
It's kinda sad I'm the laughing stock of the neighborhood
And you would think that I'd be movin' on
But I'm a sucker like I said
****ed up in the head, not!
And maybe she just made a mistake
And I should give her a break
But my heart will ache either way
Hey, what the hell, what you want me to say?
I won't lie, that I can't deny

The younger guys here should know this

Here we go fellas,

"Days on the run, here she comes a-shining like a light
Nights in hiding, salvation in the night"

Clue: U2 played/sang backup.

Somewhere in Corn Country
Fun thread to be sure, but my money is on Hoops, Anders

I am the worst when it comes to identifying song lyrics. You could post the words to the "Star Spangled Banner" and unless I can hear the tune, I couldn't tell you what song it was

I used to kill 'em as a kid when we would watch "name that tune" on the telly.....

Anders- Sorry, little late jumping into this thread. In the dark with most of the ones so far, save for 'On The Way Home'. Best version IMO was on CSN&Y's '4 Way Street' live album.

Damn your good Ian! Yep, that is it. U2 was a co-writer. Great Album. For those who don't know Robbie was an important part of the old folk band, "The Band".

Here is a sleeper favorite of mine from 1986/87

"Some things never stir the hearts of men
some mistakes take more than mere regrets to mend
In spite of all the twisting of truth
I still see myself reflected in you..."

Damn it Anders, ya got me out of control now. I think we need to takeover a radio station. Call it Radio Madjack. Free form FM radio with Capping shows also.

This one should be easier but also a favorite.

"Stood alone on a mountain top, starin' out at the great divide
I could go east, I could go west, it was all up to me to decide
Just then I saw a young hawk flyin' and my soul began to rise
And pretty soon
My heart was singin'..."

Radio Madjack - now that sounds classy!

Got some tough ones in here now so I won't add a new one until we get some answers to Bono's, Snake's and at least one of JTs - I may have to jump in on Bono's one

Again, fun thread, like to emphasise I don't want to make it an elite thread with lots of obscure songs - I own enough of those to fill this topic 10 times over - but I'd love everyone to have a chance of having a crack.

Ah what the hell, here's a new one and we'll clear any backlog that mounts up day by day..

3) "But if we get much closer I could lose control..."

Wigs is the winner.

Mine is not that obscure! Especially for you British guys! Not to mention it was featured in a Nissan commercial recently. I'm still sure how I feel about that...

I guess that's what I get for betting against Maddux.

Some Smiths and some Pogues, I'm starting to like this place. Someone toss in a little Psychadelic Furs and maybe some Refreshments and I will be quite pleased!
