This Gary Woodland is supposedly a good deal longer off the tee than JB and Bubba :0corn

1st rd scor average
AM scor ave 71.33
PM scor ave 71.32

Not trying to be condesending on this notation Derrick and I always look forward to your contributions here-but thought I'd add my 2 cents on am/pm tees.

It is generally over rated unless you can catch unusual circumstances. LIA made note in his Mercedes write up on biggest factor here and that is trade winds vs kona winds. If you can catch weatherman being correct and timely on forcast of directional change it is generally worth about 1.5 strokes on the islands.

Thanks for the response, I appreciate intelligent dialect. I was just going off weather reports, and not historical trends, ( I need to keep a better job of notes, my notebook just consists of injury notes, as well as quotes on what courses are similar, and what courses guys prefer). Watching the coverage last night was interesting, it would be pouring down rain with 50 mph winds one minute, then sunny and calm the next. :mj07: I wish I could blame the wind on Ernie missing that 18 inch putt on 17 and 3 foot putt on 18, but unfortunately i cant :sadwave:

HONOLULU -- With wind gusts in excess of 55 mph in the forecast on Friday, no one knows quite what to expect for the second round of the Sony Open in Hawaii.

A cold front will move across the island of Oahu on Friday, bringing with it 20-30 mph sustained winds, gale-force gusts and potentially heavy downpours. The weather had already deteriorated Thursday afternoon with periods of rain and gusts of more than 30 mph.

Schools on Oahu -- as well as Kauai, Maui, Molokai and Lanai -- have already been closed on Friday because of the high winds that are expected. The tournament will go on as scheduled, if possible, with the first tee times at 7:15 a.m. local time.

"We're just going to come in and see what we've got," PGA TOUR Tournament Director Mark Russell said philosophically. "We're going to pull the roll off the greens and single cut in the morning.

"We're going to take every precaution we can and try to play."

Russell and the other rules officials will closely monitor the situation on Friday. Tees will undoubtedly be moved up on some holes, as they were for the first round, and pin placements might be adjusted depending on the conditions.

During play, the rules staff will be watching to see if balls move on the greens or if they are unable to stay on the tees. If that happens, officials will have no choice but to halt play as they did during the final round of the 2007 Verizon Heritage.

"If we couldn't play golf under the rules, we wouldn't play," Russell said. "... This is like Hilton Head a couple of years ago. It was a very dangerous situation."

At the same time, Russell held out hope.

"Of course, they never miss a weather prediction," he said with a smile.

WTF is with WSEX, they aren't putting up any 2nd round matchups. They have them listed but they don't have prices, they show them all closed.

Did Johnson Wagner forget how to play golf on the way over from Maui

C'mon Johnson stir that buggie into the clubhouse, would like 2 more birdies

And Ernie's putting has to be dead last as far as stats go this week, might be time for the belly putter.

How do you guys think Tadd will fair today? Listening on XM radio yesterday seemed like one of the biggest sporting days in Hawaii history, personally I don't see him carrying over that momentum. It's still a great story, especially with all the problems his dad is going through.
I would much rather see Kevin Na finish in the top 10 since i have him at 10/1 :mj09:

Nice week so far C2 :toast:
