Leischman seems pretty confident based on his transcript.

also

"I just need to work on my ball striking for this week," Goosen said. "I'm not comfortable at all (with my game). If I had to go with a (mark) I'd give myself an F, that's how I feel over the ball.

"That's what holiday does to you when you haven't hit a ball for three or four weeks, so hopefully this week I'll start hitting it a bit better.

"I had my chances (last week) but so did everybody else so I can't complain. I didn't hit the ball well at all but the putting was actually quite good.

"They were tricky greens but I made a lot of putts."

Round 1 play (2pts):

Steve Stricker to beat Ernie Els -125 @ WSEX [also available @ Stan James and Pinnacle]
Els certainly has an impressive record in this event - five top-5 finishes in the space of six years - but the point is that was a long time ago: from 2000 to 2005. When he returned to this event last year, he finished 39th and behind Stricker in 23rd, who recorded top-5 finishes in both 2007 and 2008. But the decline of Els' game is starkly summed up in one statistic: he and Stricker played in 15 common strokeplay events last year, Stricker shot the lower 1st round score 14 times and on the other occasion, they tied. Els did not shoot a lower 1st round score than Stricker in the whole of 2009, so why should he do so this week?

I use google news which usually can find articles on every player. A lil surprised, they had guys like leishman and goydos in the press tent and not vijay

As relief efforts go, Brad Faxon scripted one that would have made Jonathan Papalbon of his beloved Red Sox jealous.

On site at Wailalae Country Club just to practice and get ready for the Sony Open in Hawaii, Faxon was asked if he could finish some work in the morning portion of the pro-am. Vijay Singh had tweaked his back halfway through the front nine and needed some medical attention.

Filling in, all Faxon did was shoot 2-under 33 and anchor his team to a back-nine net score of 8-under 27 to finish 13 under.

Singh, who had shot 40 on his own ball on the front, had left his team at the turn at net 5 under.

No word yet on whether or not Singh will give it a go in the first round. If he doesn?t, he can?t call upon Faxon, because he?s already in the tournament. First alternate Michael Connell would get the nod.

Round 2 play (4pts):

Carl Pettersson to beat Davis Love +110 @ Five Dimes
Can't see why opposing the (joint) leader would such an attractive price. Love has hardly played well enough in recent years to hold the lead in a Tour event; in fact, he has been the first round leader just twice in the last six years: he shot 83 in the 2nd round of the 2006 Players Championship to miss the cut and he shot 71 in the 2008 Verizon Heritage to fall to 14th after the 2nd round. To show how unusual this current position is, he has not held the after the 2nd round of a Tour Card at all in the last six years. He's definitely worth opposing with a player only one shot back and without the pressure of leading.
