Slept for 2/3 of it on Saturday afternoon. Total shit. Wooden acting, terrible dialogue and nothing more than an updated original Star Wars.
My kids loved it however.
The way it ended tells me they?re planning on years more of this dreck.
Maybe I can talk my wife into taking the kids to this crap in the future.

I'm with the audience. Not good.

Haven't seen it yet. I'll probably go next week once the crowds calm down. Interesting that the numbers from RT have gone down to 91% and 52% respectively in the 9 days since you posted this. After hearing from various friends who have seen it, my expectations aren't very high, so I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

Perhaps when I see it again my opinion will change a bit. Would I say it's on the level of Empire or Rouge One? First impression is no but still better then the prequels. Audience clapped at the end of it. Still no way it's on the level of Attack of the Clones or Phantom Menace.

Sorry to disagree Nuts, agree with you on alot but not here. I don't think that story arc would have worked out long term. Could have been trimmed about 15 minutes or so. First funny scene while actually funny was out of place.
Of the trailers I saw they all didn't interest me except the last, Avengers Infinity War. Next movie that I want to see is Hostiles with Christian Bale.

In no way are you qualified to even make a single comment. The above post proves that.

Why, because I value quality over nostalgia?

The story line of how Darth Vader came to be was both interesting, believable, and well done. A lot of these stories start out with guys in black hats, but this movie explained what that side was about and why the character chose that side.

As for the humor thing.....The Last Jedi started out fast with the retarded Jar Jar Binks style jokes and they continued throughout. Maybe it's acceptable to guys that like space movies that include talking raccoons, but I think it weakens the product tremendously. The part with Luke brushing the dust off his shoulder after the attack was just plain dumb.

The prequels, storywise, were solid in a general sense but Anakin's reasons for turning to the dark side was hard to believe. Just to save Padme? The writing was poor except Revenge of the Sith which had it's moments but wasn't great. Acting was very bad at times, especially Hayden Christianson. I would say only the guy who played the emperor did a above average job. Adam Driver is a vastly superior actor compared to Hayden. Not even close. Love Daisy Ridley. BB-8 is better the C-390 and R2D2. Yes the humor was pushed too much at times especially the first scene. Wish Harrison wasn't killed off and was still around, although that was a great scene in TFA. I'll see it again.

After rewatching all of them again.....i think the best is.......

Rouge One.

Shocked? Don't be, it's clearly the best of the new ones and better than the previous 6 within the star wars series.

Revenge of the Sith is good buy does have some lulls and yes: Christianson is kind of blah but the build up to him becoming Vader is fascinating.

However

Empire strikes back is the best if the 8 in the start wars series just ahead if sith.

As a movie.. I guess it was fine.. But as a giant Star Wars nerd I hated it. In fact after the second time I saw it I felt physically ill. I think what they did to my childhood hero Luke Skywalker is phukin disgrace.

Also the Fin side plot was ridiculously boring and pointless.

The Leia Mary Poppins scene was truly a laugh out loud moment.

And the social justice messages throughout were annoying. They fucking killed off Admiral Ackbar in the blink of an eye so the purple haired bitch could be in charge. Unreal! Ackbar has been around for 40 years and poof! Hes gone and nobody says shit.

Again. If you are just a regular Joe you will probably like it. But for the giant geeks of the world it was a disaster.

Fucking ruining my childhood and shit
