Not one of those 3 are better on D except for Kidd and that's the old Kidd not the player he is now or for the last 2 years. Parker is horrible on defense and Davis is a no show for too many games to inlcude him on any list.
One other thing, Magic was a great player and I'll say the best point guard I've ever seen for his entire career but he wasn't a good defender. he couldn't guard the other point guards but because of the times and how offensive the game was it didn't make as much difference. If he played in todays game and had to guard Tony Parker, Nash or any other of the good point guards he woud be in trouble.
i`m not much of an nba fan anymore....i certainly wouldn`t wager on it.....but,i think magic johnson,as did many other greats, got alot of help....
by that,i mean that i saw johnson barrel through guys in the lane....literally bludgeon smaller guards with that big body, and the refs acted as though they had the pea`s removed from their whistles...
i equate it to a mid to late career muhammad ali laying on the ropes for 2:30 seconds of a round ,throw a flurry or two in the last 20 seconds and win the round on the judges scorecards...it was b.s....everybody that knows boxing knew it was b.s....but,nobody said anything...
magic was great...but,imo,he got by with quite a bit...maybe other greats got that benefit of the doubt due to their reps and body of work.....but,those two always stuck out to me...
he was an all-time great...no argument from me...
just my opinion...
